Re: micro SD

You have to put the player in MSC mode by going to Settings-->USB Modes. Then your computer will recognize it as a Removable drive in My computer. You can't see it in the Media Converter program.

A couple of other hard-learned lessons:
1- You can only use music on the removable drive. Pictures and video have to go through the converter first to be usable and can only be stored on the internal storage.
2- The microSDHC cards don't work. I tried a high capacity 4GB card and had to downgrade to a 2GB microSD before it would work. Works like magic now!

Sansa e260 doesen't detect 4gb micro sdhc card

I will have to double-check the documentation that came with that specific MP3 player, but I know that some Sansas will only support upto 2 GB in the expansion slot.

How do I use the mico sd card on this player?

I would recommend here:

It honestly doesn't matter what brand of micro SD you stick in your MP3 player, so I wouldn't worry too much. Micro SD's are much smaller, so no, you can't use a normal SD in a Micro slot. Most however do have an SD "shell" that you can stick your Micro into, and use just like a normal SD card. Also I know that MOST mp3 players allow you to add pictures, videos, etc, and having a Micro SD inside should allow you to add things directly onto it, so i dont see why you wouldnt be able to access the contents of the Micro from your MP3.

Hope this helps! :)

I have an rca "pearl" with a micro sd slot, what is this for? i put one in and gained no extra capacity for songs, so is it a backup or what and how is it supposed to work?

sir, micro sd slot is a expansion memory of your mp3. like if you dont have any bytes left on your mp3 and you want to add another songs then sd memory card will be the option. so that you can listen a songs from your mp3 internal memory and micro sd memory card. by the way micro sd is cheaper than any other memory card selling in the market.

thank you for using fixya

Adding a 8GB MICRO SD card to the Sansa e260

I read somewhere that a 4 GB Micro SD card is the largest you can put in the SanDisk Sansa E260 expansion slot. It's maximum capacity is 8 GB, with internal + external memory put together. This is from what I've read. Hope this helps.

Switching USB modes to get to micro sd slot...

You have the newest version, indicated by a V2 on the back of the unit. You do not have the MODE option on your device.

The memory card shows up as part of the total memory, you cannot access it separately.

If you mean on the PC, it does not show up in Windows Media Player 10, but it does in WMP 11. If you are using Rhapsody, it does not show. It also shows up in My Computer as a Sansa e250R, right next to the device.

Best of Luck.

Expandable Memory

If music won't load onto Micro Sd card:
1) go to settings
2) go to USB mode
3)change to MSC format

Now you're good to go.

It should work if it was made by Sandisk and if it is a Micro SD memory card.
