I am not able to install sound drivers in my compaq presario c700 (c796 vu) operating syatem is windows xp. Please help me solving the problem. Actually it is a common problem in every presario c700....

Yes you are 100% correct... This is a common problem in compaq laptops... You will need to manually install the drivers by choosing the correct *.inf file from your drivers database...
This will work...I have done this few times...
go to device manager > right click on the device and select update driver > select the option for manual installation > select the sound devices and select "have disk" > now select the appropriate *.inf file from your list of downloaded drivers... It should get installed now...

If you dont have any inf files and if it comes in a package install it into any folder and select the correct inf file from that folder for the above installation process...!

How to remove Autorun.inf

Here are some typical malware which can install autorun.inf.exe file to your computer and give your computer a critical strike.
Autorun.inf virus contains three execute files which are kavo.exe, ntdelect.com and autorun.inf. All of them are hidden files. You cannot find the by showing hidden files. The only way to find them is to use DOS command.

Not all user have computer savvy. I was suffered from this virus a lot. Success got rid of it using RegTool and want to share it with you.

To remove Autorun.inf

Tools you need RegTool and AVG anti-virus.

Also here is an easy way to remove Autorun.inf manually!

click Start>Run>enter “CMD” them you will see and command window. In the command prompt, you can search for any exe.files. First we can disable “read only” and “hidden” attributes.
Enter the word in prompt.
Check C drive: key in dir c:\/a/w
2 then
attrib -s -h -r c:\autorun.inf
attrib -s -h -r c:\ ntdelect.com
You can use the same way to disable attributes of other drive such like D, E, etc.
3 OK, everything is done, we can now remove these two files.
For C drive, you can enter
del c:\autorun.inf
del c:\ntdelect.com

The same to D drive
How about kavo.exe? You need to repeat step1 and step 2 to disable attributes.
The delete command is different with them.
attrib -s -h -r c:\windows\system32\kavo.exe
del c:\windows\system32\kavo.exe

last thing you should do:
Open registry editor by entering Regedit.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Remove Kavo value.

I have a toshiba satellite a105-s4114. Did a fresh install and can't get the SD card reader to show up. I have gone to the Toshiba website and installed what should be the correct drivers. For the Texas...

Hello,

INF error usually occurs if the inf file is missing or the auto run .inf extension file is missing. INF is used to load the auto run of the application that made it possible to be used to any specified application that serves its purpose. So therefore your SD card reader won't show up due to the face that its INF file that is responsible in loading it application is missing. So i recommend that you have to reinstall completely the driver of SD Card reader in order to be able to use the application.

Thanks

Acer Extensa 5630EZ no Bluetooth device

Ansolutely! The slider is there on most of the models but when they are ordered it will depend on whether that addition was paid for before the module is added. If the advertisment you saw stated bluetooth and you think you should have bluetooth as pewr the advertisment I would be claiming misleading advertising. State that you wre lead to believ it had blootooth intsalled as it was ointed out at the time of sale.. Ne firm, they love to wiggle out of responisble sales and advertising. Maybe you misread the name? wasn't it SCAM?

My Acer aspire 4530's acer crystal eye webcam pops out a blank screen when i click on that application. I tried reinstalling the driver but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how i can solve this...

may be your problem is included a hardware portion !
the first, you must be sure the hardware inside your PC doesn't contined a problem , check it..
then on the software see all inf files go to Run : type inf then Enter .. there are must be including more of the nesessary inf files ..
if in that folder dosn't contined ibf files .. you have to repare your system or get inf files from another computer and copy all to that folder on your system..

or may be your driver for that webcam detected by a virus dosn't work propably ... or your Windows is detected by virus or probel .. last trying you have to formatting your system .that is be check it .

Windows xp will not load

Ah, the "Blue Screen Of Death".

Solution as follows:

To resolve this problem, start your computer in Safe mode, remove the display adapter, rename the .inf files that are associated with the display adapter drivers, restart your computer in Normal mode, and then update your display adapter drivers. The following steps describe this procedure in more detail:
  1. Start Windows in Safe mode. To do so:
    1. Restart the computer, and then press F8 while the computer starts.
    2. On the Windows Advanced Options Menu that appears, use the ARROW keys to select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
    3. Use the ARROW keys to select the operating system to start, and then press ENTER to start Windows XP in Safe mode.
  2. In the message that states that Windows is running in Safe mode, click Yes.
  3. Click Start, click Run, type msinfo32 in the Open box, and then click OK.
  4. Under System Summary, expand Components, and then click Display.
  5. In the right pane, note the information that corresponds to the INF File item, for example, Nv4.inf, Oem0.inf, or Atim128.inf.
  6. Quit the System Information utility.
  7. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  8. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  9. Expand Display adapters, right-click the display adapter, and then click Uninstall.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  12. In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands, and then press ENTER after each line: ren %systemroot%\inf\INF file name from Step 5.inf *inf.old
ren %systemroot%\inf\INF file name from Step 5.pnf *pnf.old
  13. Close all open windows, and then restart the computer in the typical manner.
  14. Log on to Windows by using an account that has administrative privileges, and then wait for Windows to detect new hardware.
  15. When the Found New Hardware Wizard starts, click Cancel.

If you receive a stop error after you remove the updated display drivers, restart the computer and use the Last Known Good Configuration option. To do this, restart the computer, and then press the F8 key while the computer starts. On the Windows Advanced Options Menu that appears, use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.

If you receive a "System Has Recovered from a Serious Error" message when Windows starts, restart the computer again. This error message does not recur.
  16. Obtain and install the latest drivers for your display adapter. For information about how to contact your computer manufacturer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

I have Aspire 4730Z acer laptop. but can't install blue tooth. when going to install driver from utility CD showing no device found. let me clear how can I resolve the problem

Method 1: Rename the Bth.inf file loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Rename the %WINDIR%\inf\Bth.inf file to Bth.bak before you install or reinstall the third-party device or stack. When you rename the file, you prevent Windows Plug and Play PNP from using that INF file to install the Bluetooth driver that is included with Windows XP SP2. To rename the file, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\inf in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Right-click Bth.inf, and then click Rename.
  3. Rename Bth.inf to Bth.bak, and then press ENTER.
  4. Install the third-party Bluetooth driver.

Method 2: Update the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); To replace the Windows XP SP2 installation of the Bluetooth stack, update the driver in Device Manager. When you do this, specify your third-party driver. To update the driver in Device Manager, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate the device.
  3. Right-click the device, and then click Update Driver.
  4. Follow the steps that appear on the screen in the Hardware Update Wizard to specify your third-party driver for the Bluetooth device.
