Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way. Then get the drum out. Clean out the dryer.

How do I get my back off my dryer to change my high limit switch?

Hi,
Some Kenmores are actually Whirlpool products.
1st, Unplug the Dryer from the Power Supply.
Many of the high limit Switches can be accessed by prying the top lid up with a Flat Head Screwdriver at both front corners where the lid meets the body. Once the front anchors are separated from the anchor wells, you should be able to lift the lid from the front as it pivots on the back hinges.
The High Limit Disc should be located in the Rear Center near the top. It is connected to the Dryer by 1 or 2 screws & 2 or 3 wires with Quick Connect Contacts. Make sure you use the exact replacement switch recommended for the Make & Model.
Never attempt to Bypass this Switch as It Will Cause a Fire!
Good Luck!,
Vinnie

I have a dlg5932w dryer that will not heat. From reading posts, it sounds like I need to reset a safety thermostat switch. How do I find it so I can reset it.

Unplug the unit. Remove the top cover by unscrewing the 3 screws in the back and sliding the cover back and up. At the control board, disconnect all the wires from the board, remove the screws holding the panel and pop the panel off. Remove the front panel of the dryer. Down on the right bottom corner inside the dryer, look for the large round tube where there are 2 sets of wires connected around it. There are 2 high limit switches, one on top right and one on the bottom left. The high limit switch on the bottom left has the reset button in between the wires. Push it and you should hear a click. That will reset the switch. NOTE: this is only a temporary fix. The manufactures recommends replacing that switch if it should trip because it will trip again. Good luck

Kenmore elite model 11062952100 My dryer will not heat I replaced The thermal cutoff and high limit thermostat the dryer produce heat briefly but is not producing heat again.

There is a high limit switch (looks like a button with two wires hooked to it) on the bottom of the vent frame. When the vent fills up with lent at the bottom it gets hot. For safety, this limit switch will turn heat off. Remove the vent frame and clean it out and check the continuity of the switch. Also, make sure both heater elements are working properly.

What would make the high limit switch on my kenmore electric dryer be open twice

Lint build up inside the machine, or a clogged dryer vent duct. if it is the resettable type, disconnect your dryer vent, reset the limit switch, and try to run it. if it works with the ducting disconnected, clean your ducting, and make sure the flapper door on the outside of your house is working. If the limit trips even with the duct disconnected, make sure the air path and fan are clean and free of lint. sometimes lint will build up on the heater element and catch on fire near the limit switch. the heater banks are available as a complete assembly, with a new element and all limit switches and thermostats. they run about 75 dollars.

I was out of town, came back, dryer will not start, no electricity going into the dryer but fuse is fine and plugged

You said fuse was fine do you mean your house fuse? Or do you have a breaker. Breakers do go bad and will reset but not have any elect flow thru them can be cked with a volt meter. Also use a volt meter on the voltage at the dryer. The easiest way is to remove the screw holding the shield over where the dryer wire enters the dryer. Make sure you have 220 volts across the two outside wires outside wires to center wire will show 110 v each. If you have voltage your door switch is bad or your motor switch which is mounted on the electric motor beside the motor pully you can ck the door switch with a ohm meter after you remove it. you can access the door switch by popping the top of the dryer loose first remove the screws at the dryer cleanout vent if it is on top if it is inside the dryer when you open the door its fine. The door switch is located on the top inside front of the door area. it is a on off switch only if it goes bad nothing works. You will need an ohm meter to ck it you can pickup one from any hardware store. Get a cheap one it will work fine. Read the directions with it. And respect electricity...
