Question about Olivetti Lettera 25 Typewriter
I got this typewriter last year at goodwill for $10. it worked awesome for a while and then it stopped. i took it apart and found a string hanging loose of a rotating spring loaded wheel. how do i fix it?
Re attach both ends of the string (drawband) and rewind the take up spring drum ther is probably a screw or somthing like it to rewind it

Not to insult your intelligence, but having recently purchased the same olivetti typewriter as yourself and I believe the spring loaded wheel, and string you are referring to are the typewriter ribbons, perhaps? It should be made of a ribbon like material and inky its what puts the ink on the paper, some times they can get tangled, simple remove both wheels, either side, and slide out the used ribbon - you can by more on ebay for about £10. Perhaps this helps, or most perhaps it is something more technical you are referring to and I don't think I could help you there. Good Luck! xD
