Mitsubishi WS-65513 Hello, I recently bought this in non working condition,hoping I can fix it.I've read through 14 pages of problems on this set,and none have the same problem.I did find a similar problem with a WD-52525 at this post: http://www.fixya.com/support/t155026-flickering_blue_picture ,but the boards look a little different than mine,although similar.Plug in,green light blinks about a minute,then set will power up.This leads me to believe the DM Module is good,but since I have to work/clean the set anyway,I may change out the caps I've read SO MANY posts about.Pretty fair with Multimeter and Iron anyway. Now to what it does.It powers up,and I can get to the device menu screen.Colors appear corrrect,has bad distortion like old TV Horiz. hold problems used to do(Haven't worked on sets in awhile).If I use the device button on the remote,some inputs make the screen appear perfect,while others have the skewed screen,and if I go to Ant.,the screen is still skewed,very dark,and only audio I seem to get is a low freq.,low vol. pulse if I turn it all the way up.I'm on disability,so I can't afford a new set,got this for cheap,and this will be my 1st HDTV,so I'm anxious to get it going.Any help is appreciated,and Happy Holidays! • So far I pulled the DM,those caps look fine.Will check rest of boards tomorrow.As far as the blue screen goes,it's not a raster,it's the actual background of the menu,it's just the icons are all jumbled at the top of the screen.I'll let you know what I find on the other boards.Thank You for your help!

  • Merry Christmas!! Here's an update.I removed the chassis tray and disassembled all the boards.There were no swollen or leaky caps,or any noticeable cold solder joints at all.I removed a LOT of dust and put it all back together.It is still having the same problem.If I goto the device menu screen,I get this.
    Great stable view with no roll.If I set it to Ant A,or VCR,I get this:

    Dark screen,no audio.If I turn all the way up,I hear a slight pulsing,and the screen appears to have some light to it,but no picture.

    If I set it to any of the card inputs,or the digital antenna,I get this:

    I've also noticed that although everything works off the remote,the front panel controls don't do anything.I'll look into that later.Thanks for any help you can give.

  • One last thing.There is a yellow with green stripe wire hanging down from the CRT board.It is tied with all 3 guns to chassis grounds up there.It is a 2 wire plug marked PX(I think,I'm not there right now).Anyway,I could not find a socket for it on any board.Is this for a degauss circuit?Is there a certain board I should narrow the search to(Power,DM,etc.)?Thanks again for a very informitive site.Onec I get this one nailed,I may be tempted to fix the other 4 people have given me.God Bless!

It seems that you have good power, so that shouldnt be the problem, You should go in and inspect for any swollen capacitors - they will look like the top is bulged outward..this sounds ALOT like a capacitor problem (rolling screen) - also if you have a problem with the inputs shutting off and giving a blue screen, you need to replace the 9v regulator on the main board right behind the signal board - it is a surface mounted BA09FP regulator... Let me know how this goes for you!

Mitsubishi WS-65513 green blinking light

Good Day, nixonam;
This a very common problem with model. Don't listen to other comments unless the use the correct replacement parts.

SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in.

CURE: replace C9B01, C9B02,C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 uFD 16V) on the DM PCB. Replace them with part # 181P734030 (680uFd 16V).

The DM Board (PCB) is located on the very left side of the TV looking from back. Caution on removing Board and note what cables you disconnect to access the Metal Shielded Board.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Have you looked at the DM board fix yet that's available here. http://www.fixya.com/howto/h154057-mitsubishi_dm_board_repair Check it out. If the inside of your TV set does not look like this, you will need to get the service manual to disassemble the set and get to the DM board, but use the rest of the guide to repair the board. If you are successful, you will save almost a 1000 bucks! Good Luck
