Grab a disk of what ever software you have i.e: xp, vista and place it in the cdrom drive. reboot your computer and it should instruct you to press any key to boot from cd. once that is done follow instrucions to reinstall the OS. once that is done don't forget your drivers cd :)

Ok. turn on your computer.. press F5 while booting.. then choose SAFE MODE> choose NO for option b4 entering safe mode. and then the restore point date will pop up. choose the date that you want to restore or basically the date that you just bought your computer. or just nearer to it.
note: this is only applicable it you restore option is in RESTORE ON mode. otherwise you cannot restore your system the day you bought it.. hope this wold work.. goodluck.!

You need a restoration disc that may have with your PC or you can obtain one from the PC manufacturer. For some PCs the restoration software may already be in your hard drive. You can go to My computer to find out or check under Programs in the Start menu. You can also use system restore (assuming u have win xp) by going to start - all programs - accessories - system tools - system restore. then select the restore point.

I am trying to restore my computer, but I don't have the cd that I need to restore my system is there another way to restore the system with the cd?

What's the brand and the operating system of your computer? Usually manufacturers has a factory image restore set on the computer if your computer has that there's no need to use a CD to restore your computer. Though there are some issues that image restore is not working for some reason, if that is the case, there's no other option but to use an operating system disc to restore your computer.

Commonly, recent branded laptops or netbooks have a feature called system restore or system recovery that allows to return your computer to a the factory default state, in other words, almost a brand new state software, this feature can be available depending on manufacturer and model, by CD/DVD system restore disks, as an option shown during starup or a software utility running in Windows.

I lost my original backup cd,how can i get it?can you please help me?

The general method for acquiring a new system restore CD is to contact the manufacturer of the computer directly, for example, Dell, HP, or whichever the brand maker is. They can provide a CD or DVD specifically for your make and model of computer.

Many computers built within the past three years also have a System Recovery or System Restore partition. When you first press the power button, look for something mentioning a "Restore" or "Recovery" option key (Like F10 for example) as this option may exist and prevent a need for a CD.

Information about the brand and model of the computer would make this question much easier to answer.

How do you restart a computer so it is brand new like when you brought it

You need to restore your computer to the factory settings using your system restore disk. If your computer did not come with a disk your system should have asked you when you booted it up the first time if you wanted to create a system restore disk.

How to default computer system? It's like a new one.

You did not specify what brand of computer or operating system.

general advice:

To do a factory restore and set the computer software back to like when you first purchased it:

Windows XP:

You will need to visit the manufacturer's website and order the restore cd.

Windows Vista and 7:

Start the computer and tap F11 button. This will bring you to the factory restore wizard and allow you to erase everything on hard drive and install like the day you brought it home from the store.

Need to restore to factory setting

Place the original CD that came with the system into the CD player and restart the computer. After you restart it, the computer will prompt you to "restore" and will allow you to start the system over again (like it was brand new again) If you don't have the origianl Cd then you can use any copy of a Windows operating system (XP, VISTA, or 7) to restore it
