Question about Thermador RDF30 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range
I complained when this stove was new and was told to clean the oven for 3 hours instead of two. I have done this faithfully and often. I also wipe out the oven regularly and scrub down the racks. I believe the blue liner used in the oven is very porous and absorbs odours. Or is there a way of cleaning the oven vent? It has become very unpleasant particularly as I am not able to have a fan other than the charcoal one over the stove. I keep a fan near the stove, leave the kitchen outside door open, use candles etc. to reduce the odour. I would be very grateful for any suggestions including replacing the oven linings if an improvement has been made.
Gee what is the blue liner material
is it a special metal coating?
internet link suggests these ovens are lemons

I own a similar range. As you can imagine I was dismayed to find out that my $6000 heap can't run a clean cycle, unless of course you just don't want to use your oven again. let me give you a tip something WILL break on your oven every time you use the self cleaning "feature".
The first time I used the self cleaning feature the board burnt up, I asumed hat this was a fluke. The second time the pvertemp sensor burnt out. The next few times that I was brave enough to try it the overtemp sensor triggered this is what I hope has gone wrong with yours since while it's not easy or convenient to fix it is free. If you pull out your range and remove the backsplash and then the rear panel there should be a breaker with a button you can push to reset. On mine it is located near the top of the oven compartment on the left side near the middle. I hope that works for you and you will soon learn as I have after doing this a few times that the self cleaning cycle is just not worth it. It willdo this every time and it really is just easier to use easy off and clean the oven by hand. I realize that is not what you had in mind doing when you bought a luxury Item like a 36" thermador range, but I hope you don't have to hate yours as much as I hate mine.

SOURCE: Thermador oven doors
I would call Thermador directly to see if they can help you. My oven door didn't have the proper restrainers, it cost 159 dollars for a repair person, and the proper restrainers. It's expensive, but it's a good deal over the life of the oven. Thermador has their own repair team. But if they can't send someone, then see if you can get the parts yourself.
They have told me that now, it shouldn't fall off. Unfortunately, when people take the door off, they often lose the pins that keep the hinges open (for installation) they also lose the retainers.

Or go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action?intcmp=xsite_Sears

You have to adjust the air flow to the burner. You are getting too much gas.
Verify the LP orifice changeout is correct.
