How to unassemble and clean Janome sewing machine foot controller model 21371?

There are 4 screws on the bottom, 2 are under a rubber pad that can just as well be discarded. Be careful opening the 2 halves of the case, since the assembly is spring loaded. Note carefully the position of the wire bail as you open.
Your control is failing because the two resistive strips are dirty. Blow all the lint out the the case, and swab the two resistor strips with alcohol. Move the wiper arm so you can reach both ends of the strips.
To re-assemble, lay the bottom half on the table and place the plunger and wire bail in position. Then set the large ends of the springs over the round plastic projections in the plunger. Take the top half of the case (with all electrical parts) and engage the bottom end (away from the springs). Before pushing the top half closed, be sure that the small ends of the two springs fit around two screw heads.

When the spin cycle begins the washer vibirates and moves on the floor. After the spin cycle reaches the maxium speed it stops. The springs are fine, but what else could be wrong?

The machine is probably not leveled properly. To level the machine, partly fill it with water. Make sure that the drum is standing in the middle of the machine and then adjust the machine until the water is at the same level all around at the nearest set of holes to the water. Check that the drum is still in the center of the outer drum. Make sure that the adjusting feet are all firmly on the floor and that you cannot rock the machine at all by hand. A top loader must be 100% level or it will shake.

I cant lift trhe bottom aggitate plate in my hmwm8000 i have removed the cap and phillips head screw how tov lift the plate?

there should be a bolt holding aggitator on spines,if not try grabbing aggitator and pulling up while rocking aggitator back and forth it will require a great amount of force to remove aggitator fron splined shaft, also so penatrating spray may help sprayed on splined shaft. It also may need to be cleaned around splined shaft to clean built up soap build up. also a haet gun or a hair dryer on high heat on top of aggitator shaft when trying to remove may help!

Leaking at bottom

Hi
please follow the easy steps...
1.Unplug the machine.
2.Drain whatever water you can from the machine using the stoppered hose behind the bottom left panel
3.Unscrew the visible screw holding the plastic in place near the drain hose and filter
4.If you can pull the plastic recessed piece out, there is one screw visible behind it - unswcrew this. If you cannot pull it out now, you should be able to get it after you remove the screws in step 10
5.Pull out the detergent drawer (push in the middle back "botton" to release the drawer to pull out fully)
6.Unscrew two screws in the drawer area.
7.Pull the top of the electronics assembly away from the machine and lift the assembly out (place on top of the machine or hook it out of the way)
8.Open the door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door seal (be careful as the seal can be torn)
9.Pull the seal away from the metal front panel, then close the door
10.Remove four screws at the top of the front panel (that were behind the eletronics assembly) - If you already have removed the screw from step 4, proceed, otherwise lean the top of front panel out and pop the plastic out, hold panel in place and remove that bottom screw from step 4.
11.Lift front panel about two inches, swing the entire front panel to the right and set against something - You should now be able to see inside the machine.
12.There is a black hose right in the middle - when I squeezed mine a little, I could see where the water was dripping out from the bottom.
13.There are three clamps - two that can be squeezed with pliers and removed, one that has to be unscrewed (phillips head screw - it is a bit blind as the screw faces the back of the machine) - Once I got mine off - I could see the hole.
14.Order replacement and reassmble in the opposite order

I want to replace the aggitator but cant pull it

Some models have a fabric softener dispenser located at the top of the agitator that must be pulled off so you can get access to the fastener that holds the aggitator onto the transmission/motor shaft. Some are just pressed onto the motor shaft and after years of use, get gunked up (yep, that's the technical term for it!). You can pour some hot water down the agitator tube to help flush out the gunk and that should make it easier to remove the agitator.

Also, check along the bottom of the agitator to see if there is a small hole that might be concealing a locking set screw that is holding the agitator onto the shaft. It varies from model to model, so look all over and around the agitator before exerting any force in an attempt to pry it off the shaft.
Try to get your hands under the bottom lip of the agitator at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions and try to rock it back and forth while pulling up and it should work itself free.

Just be sure you have removed any screw or hex headed fastener that could be holding the agitator onto the shaft 1st!

Washer will not aggitate all other functions work fine

Sounds like you need a set of dogs...(dog agits)...

Pop the top off the agitator and remove the bolt. Pull the agitator top off and inspect the dogs...(small tear drop shaped pieces of nylon)...

Sounds like the dogs lost their bite aka teeth.

Lg front load washer leaking from bottom of machine

I just fixed this problem - there is a rubber hose that hooks the bottom of the drum to the drain and recycle pumps - it is ribbed and it developed a hole. To confirm and repair (repair can be done from the front of the machine)
  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Drain whatever water you can from the machine using the stoppered hose behind the bottom left panel
  3. Unscrew the visible screw holding the plastic in place near the drain hose and filter
  4. If you can pull the plastic recessed piece out, there is one screw visible behind it - unswcrew this. If you cannot pull it out now, you should be able to get it after you remove the screws in step 10
  5. Pull out the detergent drawer (push in the middle back "botton" to release the drawer to pull out fully)
  6. Unscrew two screws in the drawer area.
  7. Pull the top of the electronics assembly away from the machine and lift the assembly out (place on top of the machine or hook it out of the way)
  8. Open the door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door seal (be careful as the seal can be torn)
  9. Pull the seal away from the metal front panel, then close the door
  10. Remove four screws at the top of the front panel (that were behind the eletronics assembly) - If you already have removed the screw from step 4, proceed, otherwise lean the top of front panel out and pop the plastic out, hold panel in place and remove that bottom screw from step 4.

Whirlpool Calypso Topload washer Won't aggitate correctly

Possibly a belt issue take the top cover off of the agitator and remove the bolt that holds it down. There will be gears inside if any of these parts are broken this will also cause it not to agitate. Let me know
