Question about Acer D-Link 2.4GHz Wireless Router 802.11b (DLINKROUTER)
Hi, I just bought a brand new Acer laptop with a Vista Premium. It detects and connects to my D-Link DI-524 wireless router, but then when I click on the network status icon on the lower right corner, it says "identifying... (my router name)" and I'm unable to open any website. When I open Network and Sharing Center under Control Panel, I see three big icons, My Computer, Router (still saying 'identifying'), and Internet. There is a green line connecting My Computer and Router, but there is a red X between Router and Internet icon. What is wrong? I also have a 6 month old Toshiba with Windows Vista, but it connects fine. Help!
You're laptop needs to have a profile for the router. Go to Network and Sharing Center, Manage Wireless Networks. Please remove all the listed networks there. Now click on Add, then Add a Network in Range of this Computer. Select the wireless name of your router and connect. If it asks for a network key, please type your wireless security key then connect. That should do it.
