Question about Frigidaire PLEF398AC Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

My oven won't come up to full temp - but broiler/clock work fine.

No matter how high we put the temp on our Model #PLEB30S8C Frigidaire Professional Series Electronic Wall Oven it will only get to 225 degrees. The Broiler and clock work fine...I've looked the model up and can't find anything. The oven is only a few years old - and I really don't want to purchase a new oven yet. I NEED my's not quite BBQ weather out right now and I'm really missing out on the baking season! I would like to try to fix it myself - rather than call a tech...and all the relatives want to come to my house this year. HELP!

My friend wouldn't take the advise and insisted it was the heating element so we bought a new one - but it still didn't work. So we had to go back and order a new OEC, which due to timing had to be overnighted. They gave us a store credit for the heating element which we applied towards the OEC and the overnight shipping charges. I wish I would have had the electric meter it would have saved a lot of time. Thanks for the info...It's great to have my oven back!

You either need a temperature probe or a board if the element is heating. If you have an electric meter ohm out the temperature probe. it should be a long skinny piece of metal coming out of the top left or top right corner of the oven cavity. if you ohm it it should read about 1250 ohms.. on your meter that would be the horseshoe looking thing. if it ohms out correctly then it may be your board.

My frigidaire professional gas oven doesn't heat to set temp. Burners and broiler work fine. Model is FPG53085kfa Any suggestions?

Hi friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that the oven will not hold temperature properly inside your Frigidaire range. I would perform a reset which can be done by unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. Please comment back if that did not help correct the issue. -Matt

Top and bottom heating element does not work on Frigidaire electric range ES300

Usually when both elements are not working and everything else is working fine, the problem is your OCU (oven control unit), commonly known to consumers as the clock.
The clock controls the oven and most times does not produce an error code when it fails.
You will need the actual model number from a sticker located on the oven frame when you open the bottom drawer, the sticker will have the model and serial number clearly listed.
Do a Google search for that model number and find the clock.
I've provided a link for what probably is the proper clock but without the full model number I can't say for sure:

I had power failure and my oven nor broiler won't

Have you checked the circuit breaker associated with this portion of your electrical panel? Do you have any power to the unit? Does the clock illuminate?

Top broiler element works sometimes but not often

Sounds like an iffy clock control. You could try replacing it, but it ain't cheap.

Frigidaire Gallery Professional Series Oven Won't Turn On

Suspect a bad oven element. Worse case is a bad oven relay on the clock control board.

We have the stainless gallery professional series slide in range. The stovetop is working fine and the oven is working but the broiler won't come on and neither wills the clean cycle work. Also, I have...

You like myself have purchased a miracle item....a stainless steel lump of ****. I;ve had mine 4 yrs and cant remember when something wasnt broken. The computer panel with the clock ($155) is normally the main problem and you should probably by two replacements as you will need the other one down the road. I have also had to replace by burner switches. I have a 1945 willys jeep that I spend less time repairing than this ****-o-la. Feel lucky that your burners and oven is actually working..matter of fact you might ought to alert the media so they can run a story on this one. Good luck!

Oven does not maintain temp.

It sounds like a thermocouple problem. While using the broiler, you gave the gas set to full and the thermostat is basically out of the loop.
