Question about Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N505
I purchased a small lot of Mini Discs and when I tried to erase a few of them (by pushing the jog wheel to "Erase") ..All I get is "TRProtect" which I assume means Track Protect. This has nothing to do with the white tab on the disc....Apparently it is something chosen after he/she made the discs....How do I overide or cancel TR Protect so I can erase the whole disc for reuse?????
I figured it out!! Initialize! Connect your MZ-N505 to a PC with the USB port. You'll need a USB A to mini B cable.Using the SonicStage software from Sony Support. You can then click the Transfer tab at the top of the screen. Select NetMD. All the current tracks on the disc should appear in the right hand window. At the bottom right of that window click Device/Media info. A dialog should pop up allowing you to Initalize (erase) the disc. Whew! I also bought a bunch of used Mini Discs that I wanted to record over. I ran into the same "TRProtect" message. Now I can use all these discs! Hope this helps. Have fun.
