Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561A This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561A ATA Device.
In Device Properties under Device Status it reads:
This device cannot start. (Code 10) I have an Optiarc DVD/RW AD 7203A ATA Device, which reads "Device Cannot Start". I tried restoring twice but after two days, it reads the same error message. I have Vista OS. Tried going to the site to download driver but it is not available. Tried e-mailing for help but solutions are not helping.

Go to this incredibly long link (sorry about that) and look though the solutions there, it says it is for hp and sony computers but it has the same principal for all dvd/cd drives

I hope this helps

Hello, please go to Start -> run and type "devmgr" without " ", locate de CD/DVD device, right click on it and uninstall, then reboot the computer, it should install itself automaticly and work, if not, go to this link and locate your device and download the driver.

Optiarc dvd rw ad-7561a ata device

had the same issue and was able to resolve it by going to HP Compaq's websibe (for you it would be eMachine) and they provided the following information & i uninstalled the driver in device manager after running the below fix, scan the system for new hardware and the DVD drive appeared with the correct driver. hope this helps. good luck.

To resolve this issue, remove upper and lower limits from the registry. Upper and lower limits are points of your computer's registry that control the drivers for your specific device—in this case, the optical drive. Remove upper and lower limits from the registry using the Microsoft Fix this problem link below: c01733077.jpg If Microsoft's automatic fix does not resolve the issue, try using the other methods listed in this document to troubleshoot the issue.

Try replacing your cable or at least unplugging it on both sides then plugging it back in.

Go to your system properties under control panel and uninstall the driver pertaining to your interface. When you reboot it will ask you to reinstall. Sometimes it will start reinstalling right away. That's fine. There is no rollback for just a driver. It's a system rollback they were talking about.

If problem persists with functional cables and functional drive then it's probably your motherboard.
