Check your Defrost heaters in your Freezer. I just replaced mine for that same reason.

Your drain is probably plugged so when the fridge goes on defrost the water has nowhere to go.After the defrost cycle when the frige starts to freeze again the water freezes up causing ice build up

SOURCE: Frigidaire side by side freezer-

this should not be happening as a heater in the freezer should eliminate this problem.first check the hose is completely clear,if it is when your fridge goes into defrost mode you should be able to feel warmth near this drain or hear the ice crackling and defrosting thence draining via the rear tube also try removing the offending ice in the drain with hot water

Your defrost drain tube is clogged up. Remove the ice and look for the top of a drain tube about 3/8-1/2" in diameter. Once the ice is gone, use a meat baster (turkey baster) full off hot water stuck in the top of the drain tube and blast hot water through to clean it out. Do this several times with about 4 cups of hot water so you don't over flow the drain pan and flood the floor

The hose going from the drain to the condensate pan may be deteriorating or full of mold. Try running some "CLR" or Limeaway through it. Simply blowing it out with compressed air might help. If it's blocked with corrosion (metal drain) you may have to cut it free and replace it with a rubber hose.
Other causes could be that the drain is "trapping" itself or, if it came equipped with a trap, the trap could be clogged.

It sounds like you have a broken place in the door gasket that is allowing warm air to enter the freezer.

How to remove back panel of GS2326CEDW/11 Admiral fridge freezer

If the water is showing on the freezer side, more than likely you have a clogged drain. This occurs when the machine goes into defrost and the melted ice somehow is prevented from draining and therefor refreezing and blocking the drain for the next defrost cycle. The best way to resolve this is to unplug the machine for atleast 24-48 hours to let all ice melt. Also note on the maytags these days they put a rubber piece called a duck bill on the bottom half of the drain which will also cause this over time. To access this piece you'll have to pull the machine from the wall and remove the lower panel and find the plastic drain and remove the duck bill

I have an admiral fridge freezer model number GS2126CEDW.water keeps leaking from the front of the freezer and a build up of frozen water has accumalated at the bottom of the freezer.A person has advised...

hello again,

Sorry to hear that the drain is clear and not the problem, some of the other things that cause that water are;

Freezer door gasket...is it curled up in the corners espicially on the hinged side so air is leaking in and condensating resulting in water

The tube that send water into the icemaker is partially frozen so when water enters the icemaker it's being sprayed and dripping to the bottom(if thats the case ice would probably be built up all over the freezer)

The door for the ice dispenser isn't fully closing and will cause condesation just like the door gasket would

Good luck,
GENE

Hi our fridge is building up ice in freezer section & water is leaking out bottom of fridge. I cleaned ice out once but came back nxt day Cheers Wayne

The problem is caused by the failure of either the defrost thermostat or defrost heater. In any case, replacing both the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat is recommended, and that would solve your "ice in freezer" problem.

I have an admiral sal2027gbb and the alarm keeps sounding. there is ice building up on the back of the freezer. we have dad the sensor replaced and heating element but has not solved the problem. can you...

Could be the temp is set too low that would cause the ice build-up, thus causing the alarm to set off. Try defrosting the freezer, and run the fridge again.

Admiral side by side, the ice maker does not seem to making ice

Pull down slightly on the bottom bin lip , and pull the bin foreward . The bin has to lock in place , or it would slide foreward , each time the ice dispensor is used , causing the freezer door to be pushed open from the force .

Admiral HMG 62163 water leaking internally & freezing in lower basket

good attempt, its actually a clogged drain thats backing up and your drain water is not able to leave refrig so it falls to bottom of freezer floor and eventually out the door. romve the items from the freezer and take the lower back wall off form inside, directly under the evaporator under all that ice there is a drain hole, youll need to clear that hole of iec( pouring boiling water down until you get a free flow of water then you can reassemble uint problem solved
