A blown fuse is an indication of circuit overload. Did you replace the fuse with one of the same value or higher? is this the standard current rating for that circuit (usually marked on the fuse cover.

If the engine cranks remove a spark plug tape it to the intake manifold or somewhere where there is clean bare metal (please not near the battery) check for spark if ok reinstall plug if not replace the ECM fuse and relay with alternatives in the fuse box if this gets the pump going replace the ECM fuse and or relay then check for fuel turn on the ignition you should hear the pump run and then shutoff if not replace the pump fuse and relay with alternatives in the fuse box if this gets the pump going replace the pump fuse and or relay

How to replace an auto fuse


Cars and trucks use fuses for many different components. Every now and then, one of the fuses will blow. You can take your car to a mechanic if you want, but it will be much cheaper to replace the fuse yourself.

Replacing a fuse is different for every vehicle, but the same general procedure applies. The first thing you'll have to do is get a replacement fuse. Open your vehicle's fuse box (typically either underneath the steering wheel or under the hood -- your owner's manual can tell you exactly where) and locate the blown fuse. All fuse boxes should include a diagram that tells you which fuse controls which components, so you can tell where the blown fuse is. If you have a circuit tester or multimeter, you can test the fuse to verify that it has been blown.

Once you've found the bad fuse, get a replacement fuse of exactly the same size and rating. Most auto shops or hardware stores sell fuses, typically in variety packs for a couple of dollars.

When removing the old fuse, you can use your fingers or a pair of tweezers, or you can get a specially-made fuse extractor (which is just a fancy pair of tweezers). You can also use needle-nose pliers, but if you do, be careful not to squeeze too hard and crack the fuse.

Make sure the car is turned off when removing or installing a fuse. Put the new fuse in gently, facing the same direction as the old fuse. Once it has snapped into place, close the fuse box and turn the car on. Test the component that the fuse controls and verify that it works. If it doesn't, the fuse may not be pushed in all the way, or the new fuse may be bad.

Need to replace the fuse in space 19 in the under the hood fuse box of my 1999 Chevrolet Tracker>


Take off the negative battery terminal first. Use pliers to pull the fuse remnants out. If not enough room, try removing surrounding fuses. The fuse only has two spade terminals into the fuse block. Pull on them back and forth until loose.

Fuses protect all the major electrical systems in the car. In case of an electrical overload, the fuse melts, breaking the circuit and stopping the flow of electricity.
If a fuse blows, the cause should be investigated and corrected before the installation of a new fuse. This, however, is easier to say than to do. Because each fuse protects a limited number of components, your job is narrowed down somewhat. Begin your investigation by looking for obvious fraying, loose connections, breaks in insulation, etc. Use the techniques outlined at the beginning of this section. Electrical problems are almost always a real headache to solve, but if you are patient and persistent, and approach the problem logically (that is, don't start replacing electrical components randomly), you will eventually find the solution.
Each fuse block uses miniature fuses (normally plug-in blade terminal-type for these vehicles) which are designed for increased circuit protection and greater reliability. The compact plug-in or blade terminal design allows for fingertip removal and replacement.
Although most fuses are interchangeable in size, the amperage values are not. Should you install a fuse with too high a value, damaging current could be allowed to destroy the component you were attempting to protect by using a fuse in the first place. The plug-in type fuses have a volt number molded on them and are color coded for easy identification. Be sure to only replace a fuse with the proper amperage rated substitute.
A blown fuse can easily be checked by visual inspection or by continuity checking.
The fuse block is located on the lower left side of the instrument panel. To access the fuse panel, open the driver's side door. Pull off the fuse panel cover to get to the fuses. Spare fuses and a fuse puller should always be kept here. Various convenience connectors, which snap-lock into the fuse block, add to the serviceability of this unit.


REPLACEMENT

I bought my car used from someone and it didnt come with the owners manuel and the cover of the fuese box is missing so i need to know which fuses r wich!! plz help

2002 Mercedes C320 wagon / fuse for cigarette lighter


Just did this on my 2002 C320. The blue 15 amp fuse is located in the front fuse box under the hood. It is either #47 or 48. If you already opened the driver-side fuse box, see if the paper fuse map is still there. If it is, find the fuse to be sure. Replacement is very easy, but there is a fuse puller tool in the spare tire well where your kit of replacement fuses should be. if you are in luck and you have a replacement, use the puller tool and replace the fuse.

if your fuse box doesn't tell you which fuse is which, just pull them one at a time and replace any that are blown. if not a fuse, replace bulbs
