Research the Breeze Litter System by Tidy Cat. It keeps the poo and urine separate which seems to reduce the overall odor, except right after the cat has pooed, which is my cue to go clean it out. It only takes a second now to do that. It uses special pads to catch the urine and keep it from smelling. BTW, Wag.com has a great deal on the Urine pads for the Breeze system, way lower than on Amazon or any other website I have found. If your order is $49 or more you get free shipping. This code will get you 20% off your first order: CLUT9394
Hope this helps. :)
It all comes down
to your cat to make the final choice. Once you find a brand that your cat
likes, stick with it. It may take some time searching for the right exact brand
that suit your cat but it is totally worth it.
If your cats litter box is not cleaned every day, or the litter
is not changed frequently, the odor will build up. Here are some tips that will help you keep
litter box odor at a minimum:
ā¢
Never put your cats litter box in your own
bathroom. The best location for a litter
box is in a small closet; preferably somewhere you keep your cleaning supplies.
ā¢
Avoid using hooded litter boxes. No matter how clean you keep it, the hood
will trap odors.
ā¢
Try lining the bottom of the litter box with a
thin layer of baking soda.
ā¢
Opt for a clumping cat litter. They make it easier to remove waste.
ā¢
Use a litter box deodorizer.
ā¢
Be diligent about cleaning the litter box and
area surrounding it
The following is a great brand of litter that neutralizes
odors upon contact with moisture. I have
noticed a difference since we started using it.

Little kittens require a litter box with sides low enough for them to get in and out easily. You should visit http://www.shopzilla.com/cat-supplies/litter+boxes/31000200/products and you should find the right litter box for your kitty.
