Check the inline power fuse first/or replace it! If that does'nt work then next make sure the radio is in the operating possition on the switches labeled>cb/pa< to cb mode. If this does'nt work then you may have a wire from your power plug inside the radio broken loose or a blown diode. If in fact the wire is connected inside the radio the diode would be my next guess. This happens when the polarity of the radio is reversed(hooked up backwards). This can be fixed relativley easy at your local radio shop for about 30$. Good Luck.

this is a very nice radio (it was one of my first) , it works on cb and 10 meter ranges and has many high end features for a radio as this
if it wont light up , ck the inline power fuse that is inline to the red lead that connects to radio and the black lead needs to be well grounded to car frame , also this radio runs on 12 volts dc (std car battery) and NOT house mains power
also I know this radio did not come with a microphone included as they wanted user to customize there rig to there own tastes , a microphone being properly connected may be required on this model (I know it does on other models) to get radio to power up correctly ,
also never connect radio to power without a proper 10 meter balanced antenna connected properly to input on rig this will cause instant damage to radio
There are two 12 volt sources from the vehicle behind the stereo, one is a constant which the stereo requires to keep the clock circuit powered, the other is a switched ignition source which is designed to supply power to the stereo when the key is turned backward from the off position and or forward, you likely connected both wires from the stereo to the constant wire. Perform a Google search to obtain a wire color diagram of your vehicle.
before I give you an answer is it just coming on and going off or is it staying on? you have the wx channel on that radio and when it receives power from any device to the radio the wx channel will come on and turn off immediately.Nothing wrong with the radio it is just a pain in the rear ,thats all.
check near the rear of the radio.. around the power input connection and the audio transformer there should be a 1n4001 diode.. check it for a short. replace it if it is.. and it should power up.. also in the same area check for any shorted traces.. on the circuit side.. also on the sides of rci main board radios near the bracket screws theres a transistor voltage regulator.. make sure its connected to the board.. sometimes they come loose.
The calibrate knob only calibrates the radios SWR meter, the owners manual will show you the procedure for that. If your ANT light is coming on, it is telling you that your SWR is to high, and may cause damage to the radio from reflected power. You should purchase an in line meter as the radios internal meter may be somewhat unreliable. You need to tune the antenna to the lowest SWR possible. Typically anything under 2.0:1 is acceptable. Radio Shack sells a meter for about $50, and is pretty accurate. Antenna mounting can also cause high reflection if it is to close to other objects. Google "CB antenna tuning" or read the instruction manual for you antenna, and you should be able to figure out how to properly tune the antenna.
These repairs can be a little tricky to fix with out seeing the radio and the right equipment. Try replacing also D8 and or C123in between both diodes but first make sure on the other side of the trace side there are no burned out traces and they all look good. These traces can have a very small crack that you cant see with the naked eye so use a good magnified glass. Also is is there any lights on at all on the radio when you plug it in?? Because some times TR23 will go out and the radio wont come on but there will still be a meter light or green RX light!! Hope this helps a little let us know if you have other questions!!
