You have provided very vague details of your problem.

It would be useful if you listed the details of your system, including your operating system (XP. Vista etc,) Also the manufacturer and model numbers of the mouse and keyboard you are having trouble with.

For cordless peripherals you should have followed the instructions for synchronising their RF signals with the receiver and make sure your batteries in the keyboard and mouse are in good condition.

Next thing to try is unplugging, wait 20-30 secs and replug your mouse and keyboard receiver.

If that doesn't help then force a driver re-install by doing the following: I will assume you are using a version of Windows - Access the device manager - you should find it by a right click (I assume you have an alternative mouse available) on the Computer icon on the desktop then select properties (or go via the Start Menu and use the Control Panel).

Locate the entry for "Mice and other pointing devices" and select and remove (delete) the entries within that section. Do the same for the Keyboard section within Device Manager.

When you have done this reboot your system, the drivers for your mouse and keyboard should be re-detected and installed with their default settings.

Hopefully that will help resolve the problem.

I have left this thread open in a tab since posting my suggestion regarding the problem experienced by caseyonnet.

I'm now closing it since no feedback regarding the situation has been received since my post.

Two people have taken time to consider the problem you have experienced and have offered advice - a reply from you is not only polite but helpful to others experiencing a similar problem.

If it is a wireless keyboard, take the batteries out. If it is a USB keyboard, unplug it from the computer.

What to do when my mouse freezes?

First make sure is not the computer frozen, by pressing the Windows key on keyboard, and if the menu comes up then is not frozen. Next, if not frozen move the mouse to another USB port, if frozen restart the computer by pressing and holding power for 5 seconds.

If your plugging it into a P2P (which are the green and purple circular ports that your and keyboard go into) for mouse to get power, it would require a restart. I suggest using a USB mouse because it a plug n go.
