Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

New trouble with my samsung CLP-300 printer

    My CLP300 is less than a year old and moderately used. Just recently, it stopped working. After powering on the switch, the status light shows yellow, and all of the toner lights stay red for a few seconds. Then the status light turns constant green while the toner lights sequentially flash red in a cycle. This cycle repeats with a constant green status light for about 20 seconds. Then the status light shows constant red, and all of the toner lights are off.



    The PC recognizes the printer. The Dr. Printer diagnostic says everything is fine. The toner cartridges are new. The printer does not warm up by activating its motors during power on. The printer is completely dead except for the lights. I've removed all of the major assemblies but could not find a paper jam.

    The red light stays on after a very brief warm up with all lights flashing.  My printer is about 15 months old but has been like this for some time on and off. There is no paper jam as suggested by the red light.

    My Samsung CLP 300 has a status red light and a red light on blue and a red light on yellow. I just want to print black.

    I have replaced the black cartrige because that light was on, the red didnot return to green, I emptied the ink reservor, the red light still stayed on, checked for jams-no jams, no print jobs showing to cancel, I turned off and unplugged the computer and printer-still red light in on and printer will not print or will it show that there is a document waiting to print. What do I do next?

    I bought new inks, new waste tray, all of them OEM, and still the red light does not go off. I have dusted all parts off the printer, and there are no jams.

    The printer starts fine, runs through its start-up cylces and then goes red.

    Can you please advise.

    I have a simlar problem, i chabged the black cart and the red and black lights stayed on telling me incompatable cartridge. It will not reset. Any ideas

Can't believe the geniuses at Samsung didn't respond to this. I had the same problem and as usual, I started tinkering.  Two solutions: 1. Remove the used toner reservoir(located left on the toner cartridges...light grey, "L" shaped object) and discard(be environmentally aware).  Replace with new one. or 2. (My choice) Remove reservoir, empty contents carefully.  Wash thoroughly with cold water until water is clear.  Dry thoroughly with paper towel and blowdryer. Light must be clearly visible through the little magnifying bubble on the side. Works everytime.  Be patient. This takes about 5 minutes.  Can be very messy if you are not anally retentive as I am. :)  Al

    ABSOLUTLELY according to you. i have same samsung clp 300 and happens exactly the same. cartriges are new, no paper jam, paper carged, toner receipt is absolutely clean, and the controller says "error start device" i dont know what to do. printer was used once in a blue moon. =(

LSU error SAMSUNG SCX 4725FN


Laser Scanner Unit or LSU is what writes to the surface of the drum. The glass above the cartridge in the machine may be dirty. The mirror motor in the LSU could be bad or needs to be cleaned to spin better. The Laser diode may be faulty.

This is not a user-serviceable issue. You will need to contact Samsung for a service. You can do it online via Samsung website or contact the vendor to see who will they appoint to service the printer to, especially if it is still under warranty.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .

Samsung kicked out hp 3in 1 printer already installed


Don't have your HP designated as the default printer (if possible)when you hook up the Samsung. When the Samsung is hooked up it sees the HP is the default printer. Well it can't have that, they discard the HP drivers. What does Samsung care about HP drivers theres only one printer port setup and thats the USB port you have them sharing. So yes you need to get a second cable. Tim
