There is a powerbutton on my sony TV - no amount of pressing the remote will activate the telly unless I forstpop the power button on the top. Once it has been initiated teh remotes work fine.
ALSO check the remote is working by activating a digital camera - can even be a smartphone - point the remote at the lens and you should see a flashing light on the camera screen, if not, check the batteries etc (try another remote for something you know is working to compare the result)
If all that fails, it may well be the TV that's broken.
Hi , silly question but I have a jmb tv 32 inch code Jt0132003B/01 but can't find the power button on the tv !?! I looked all over the tv but doesn't seem to have one ??? I don't want to leave it on stand by so my only option is to turn off at wall but that turns off My talk talk and DVD player too , any know where is it !?!
hi, if you have a device plugged into the telly that gives you the picture such as sky or cable then the best thing to do is disconnect this device from the back of your telly then switch the telly and this device off at the mains, then re-fit all the cables making sure they are connected properly then switch it all on.
now check if you have sound also make sure the tells is on the correct input for that decice and also make sure the mute button has not been pressed on the telly remote or on the remote of the device you use to watch telly, if after doing all that it still dont work then the chances are something has blown on the amp in the telly.
make sure you double check all the leads going into the telly to rule out a faulty lead causing you the problems
Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.
I am a sky engineer (not a subby)
the reason this does not come on straight away is because a Scart lead send power upto your telly when it is turned on. Telling the telly that this is what you want.
Unfortunately HDMI does not send power upto the telly. There are ways around this. ON Samsung, Panasonic and Lg tellys you can go into a secret menu and apply something called HOTEL MODE this allows you to change the av input so it would automatically come on your hdmi 1,2,3, etc
In your case follow my instructions below
go to the hdmi you are using for your Hd
on the sky remote
Press SELECT and GREEN until LED flashes twice.
Press HELP then SELECT and the LED will flash Twice. what this mean is when you press your Sky button, tv guide, services or interactive button to turn the sky on this will automatically change your av/source on your telly to the sky HD for you
Hi, right hdtv stands for high definitian tv witch basically means if you buy a hd dvd player or blueray then you can watch the films in really high quality alot better than normal dvd. The same if you had cable tv or sky you pay a fee for an hd converter then this lets you watch certain channels in high def. So it basically means that your telly is capable of using all the new hd equipment thats coming out like the playstation 3 can play high def dvd's as long as you buy the hd lead as you need this due to the fact that it sends more data to the telly their for giving alot better sound quality and alot better piture quality when watching hd dvd's. At the moment their are only a few tv channels that are using hd at the moment but this will soon change. So to watch hd dvd youll need an hd dvd player and to watch hd tv you need to contact your cable or sky people and ask them what you need to do to watch hd programmes. they will then upgrade your box and should send you an hd lead to plug into your telly from the sky or cable box. Hope this is helpfull and easy to understand.
Hd is well worth having as the quality is amazing you wont believe it till you try it i was shocked as the detail and quality is mind blowing its like watching real life, it really is that good.
