How do I turn off the X band on my Cobra XRS 757? I dont have the manual anymore. I looked on the cobra website and tried the mute and dim buttons. Thats did not work. Anyone have one that can tell me hoe to turn this alert off? Thanks!
The x-band is the considered a "trash band". It picks up things like automatic doors at supermarkets and such. About every radar detector made has an X band for non-police radar. There is no way to turn this band off on the XRS-757.
Holding down the dim button for 2 seconds turns the V alert on/off
Holding down the city button for 2 seconds turns the Spectra on/off
Holding both city and dim together for 2 seconds turns K and Ku band on/off.
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

By Codes do you mean the X, K and Ka signals that the unit is reporting? If so, those are the 3 bands used for police radar. X is the oldest and not used very much. K is also an older band. Ka however is the newer band and the most used for speed tracking.
X band is usually some electrical signal not to worry. K band is usually a radar sign or machine that tells you your speed. (Small town Sheriffs use this band also because they cant afford newer technology) Ka means K band America- If you see this symbol slow down and look around. Ku means K band Europe- If you see this symbol slow down and look around
Its all marketing hype. Cobra breaks up the three X, K and Ka bands into sub-bands, and they do the same for the single 904nm laser wavelength. There are no sub-bands for X or K band. In the USA, Ka band radar guns operate on three Ka band frequencies: 33.8, 34.7 nd 35.5 MHz. Cobra also breaks up the single laser band based on the known pulse rates of various laser gun models. Yet in general if you get a laser alert from a nearby cop then likely you have been tagged and will be getting a ticket.
There are 2 options for power plugs that can be purchased from Cobra for the 757. The straight 12V power cord is listed under item number: 420-030-N-001 and the coiled 12V power cord is listed under item number: 420-026-N-001. Both can be purchased from Cobra by calling their order line at: 773-889-3087 or visiting www.cobra.com
X stands for wide band radars(easy to detect, lots of false alarms) K/Ka stands for pulse band radars(similar signal has auto doors) W,L stands for laser detection (very little false signals) Ku stands for signal most used on speed cameras V stands for radar detectors detector Have in mind that you can only lower your speed 20-30 km/h in city zones, and up to 50 km/h on highway. This depends on car, brakes and You.
I called cobra support(777-889-3087) and it was around $6 plus shipping for a replacement speaker. the correct phone number for cobra support is 773-889-3087 and can be found on their website.
