Hi Breda, Step to recover your password is as follows.
visit http://mail.yahoo.com. click on I can't access my account.
on next page select i have problem with my password and hit NEXT. type your yahoo id that firstname.lastname@example.org and click NEXT. it will ask you to send a text msg on your mobile number which is registered with your yahoo account. click NEXT. now on next page you'll see text box below "The code sent to my mobile phone is" ... now wait and you'll rcv 5 or 6 digit code on your mobile. once you rcv that code enter in text box and hit next. thats all you can set your new password on next screen. hope it helps u. :)

Try to log in your yahoo messenger, and view from the yahoo page that comes up, only that you will not be able to reply messages or compose.
A solution that might work is if you can get a friend to send you a mail, then you log into your yahoo messenger, an alert will come up that you have a new message, click on the message and you yahoo mail will open, if it does not open, then it means the problem is from yahoo and all you have to do is to wait a little while, lets say a day or two, then it will work perfectly fine once again.
It might be due to some technical problem on yahoo.
