Ok Ready? I have a Maytag washer that keeps blowing out lid locks 5 in almost 1.5 years and they have had to put new top packs, new top, not the lid you open, anyways I found that handy troubleshooting guide hidden in the back of the machine, (sneaky maytag repairmen)its digital with all those troubleshooting codes and It gave a a code of 17? and on the guide it said do a lid lock test and NO where on that paper were lid lock instructions I bought the satanic machine in 05 within two weeks it broke a lid lock and the put a new top cover, does that top cover have anything to do with the lid lock? Did I mention I bouught it as a scratch and dent and it is dented on that right side under the lid lock that breaks all the time? The refused to give me another machine and maytag refused saying it was still repairable,,,help me ohh the locks are new just replaced them just gettin the error cose OP which means lid open, yes my magnet is in place how could a magnet be defective I cant figure it out at all. Sears is coming to fix without warranty so please help before they suck me dry! Ha HA no didnt buy from there should have, better customer service than Maytag..lol
-   We have the same problem. Our washer is only 4 years old, had already one major repair and now the lid won't lock. Never Maytag again. Still looking for a solution, can't wash!-   Guest
The right lid lock if broke does not need repair, the left side is the one that tells the machine lid is open,My right side does not work and I am not replacing it. If it is stuck in the lock position cut it at the latch
was absolutely the corrosion in the left lid lock, had eaten right through the wire. this site was awesome....always check te left first, it has the sensor to tell the machine it is open.
Had the same OP error. Used a putty knife to open the top found the left lid latch a little sticky and the connector plug loose (spin cycle vibration?}. WD-40, pushed the plug on there goood, closed it back up and I'm back in business. hope you are too. Paulpsps@aol.com

At the end of a normal wash cycle when I open the lid a stream of water drips form the bottom corners of the lid. It also drips form the soap bottom of the soap dispenser. The only difference on my part is I am using 2x liquid soap.

We have the exact same problem. We've replaced the lid lock on the left. Our magnet is defective. How does that happen? We are at a loss.

Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top Loading Washer keeps flashing "od" and machine will not start. Tried unplugging overnite last week and it allowed me to finish 3 more loads of laundry. Tried to do this weeks wash and after 1 load same thing happened and the old solution did not work. I got this machine at a Sears scratch and dent sale after much consideration and Consumer Reports review. This purchase involved driving an hour away and after several weeks of use I really wasn't fond of this design nor performance. We paid over $800 for this machine and certainly expected more from a Maytag. At this rate the Maytag repairman must be totally worn out!!! Please somebody help me!!!
My Maytag Neptune TL FAV6800AWW has a code of OP and I can not get it to work. I have tried turning of the power, but nothing seems to work. I can not find my user guide and my warranty is over. Please let me know what to do.
