Says printer is offline

Dear
Click on START-PRINTER AND FAXES-right click on the PRINTER ICON-click on USE PRINTER ON LINE.

If this is not working connect(replace the cable with a known working cable) the usb cable at the back panel usb port(or change the usb port) of the PC.

If this is not working un install the printer driver and reinstall the same.

If this is not working the printer hardware failure may be there you may need assistance of trained personnel.

you will have these 5 solutions after clicking on it.

• Set printer from Offline to Online
• Configure printer driver to correct port
• Set the default printer (Windows)
• Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to ensure a secure connection
• Press the ON/OFF button to power on the multifunction device.

turn off your printer. check the cable, might have to unplug and plug it back. Turn printer back on. Go to control panel, printers and faxes. Right click on your printer and if still stay offline, change it back to online, and send a print test page to see if it works.

If you are connected via USB cable, you will want to follow these steps.

1. Clear the print queue from the computer.
2. Shut down the computer.
3. Power off the printer.
4. Unplug the USB cable from both the computer and the printer.
5. Make sure there are no foreign objects in the printer.
6. Reconnect the USB cable.
7. Turn on the printer and the computer.

The "offline" message should now be cleared.

When you double click the Printer and Faxes icon in the Control Panel you will see the printer that your computer is currently using. See.... if the printer image is clear it is online and ready to use, if its blurred then its in offline mode and cannot be use.

To correct offline printer.. some possible reasons is on the usb cable.. check if there is no open wire along the cable...Inserting the USB connector on the other usb slot of the cpu sometimes work just wait first until it is read.

If the printer is still blurred and offline after checking the usb connection, the 2nd thing to do is check the properties of the printer if it is set to offline mode. how? Double click your printer icon. It will display the print jobs window. Click on the Printer tab and uncheck on the "Use printer Offline". Cancel all pending print jobs, close the printer window and try again to print.

my canon pixma 560 keeps telling me its offline and wont print, why?

Hi there,

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

The printer status showing offline is more then likely a computer issue then the printer. On the printer, use the menu to select "reports" and then select the printer settings report. If the printer prints the report, then the printer itself is working, and it is a communication issue between the printer and the computer. If you are connecting to the printer with a usb cable, then try moving the usb cable on the computer to another port. If this does not work, try deleting and reinstalling the printer.
