There are three crucial elements to consider when storing
wine - temperature, humidity and light & vibrations.
•
Temperature - it is best to store wines between
50-57F
•
Humidity - try to achieve a level of 60%
humidity; which helps to keep the cork moist
• Light & Vibration - keep your wines away from direct light and very still so not to disturb the elements inside the bottle
I also had the same indecision and finally I've purchased a dual
zone wine cooler. The dual zone wine cooler allowed me to maintain two distinct
and separated temperature zones within the same cooler which was exactly what
is was looking for, and I think this is the optimal solution for you as well.
White wine should be stored in the temperature range of 46-56 Fahrenheit
depends on the kind of white wine you store (the recommended temperature should
be written on the label).
You need a dual zone wine cooler. They have two temperature controls and the storage space is divided in such a way that each temperature control has its own section inside the cooler; allowing you to store both red and white wines properly.
