Basing on your post : Horizontal line ,

check vertical deflection circuits

( includes IC, capacitors , resistors % foil paths ) , up to the yoke.

Could be just a cold solder joints on Vertical IC, open resistor,

leaky capacitor or both

Have voltage :

On most the supply line of vertical IC is +24V

Red line horizontal

Vertical sweep output section circuit fault. No vertical scan out signal/voltage to deflection coil. Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

Vertical lines in sylvania tv

The cause for vertical line fault, is generally with faulty/damaged components at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Wavy horizontal lines across the screen

It sounds that the main power supply section to your TV has the fault. The horizontal thik lines that appears crawling down across the screen should be of video 'HUM'. Have you replaced the main filter capacitor at the power supply section? If not, replace it along with the main rectifier. The AC power is rectifed by a bridge and applied ot this main filter capcitor. It will have a capacitance value between 120 to 350MFD 450VDC. Check this section. Measure the rectifed DC voltage acorss this main filter capacitor. It should be around 350VDC, if your home power supply line is 220VAC. If it is 110AC, this DC voltage will be around 165VDC; and it should be. If rectified DC voltage found lower than the input AC voltage, replace the rectifier bridge. In some sets, this bridge section have four diodes. Some other circuits, a bridge rectifier stalk may be used.

My 36xbr800 blinks six times then pauses then blinks six times, this is repeated......

Check the voltage input to horizontal output transformer [LOT]. Check the voltage at the collector point of the line drive transistor. If the line drive transformer primary gets open this type of fault mau occur. Also check the frequency ant the collector point of line drive transistor and the base point of line output transistor. It should be aroung 15625 Hz.
Check and replace the horizontal output transistor if needy. Replacing it is better. The horizontal output is not working or a short in secondary power supply of SMPS or lot secondary, is your problem

Horizontal line appearing on desktop

The fault looks like white lines horizontally along the screen. These are the retrace lines that become visible due to absence of proper screen/grid voltage. You will need to open the monitor only if you are familiar with power electronics, a bit of experince is important as the stages are delicate and contains high voltage. If not take help, check for faulty capacitor or low value of resistors in the screen/grid sections of the crt. Couple across parallel to the suspected capacitor to confirm and change. Use a meter to see the voltage across faulty resistors. In some cases reducing the screen potentiometer ( onthe Line output transformer)can solve the faulty. Hope you try. Good day
