Your best bet is to get a Zenith universal remote control.

Projector needs adjustment

If the model number is correct the set may have in the tech menu a way to move centering etc with the original remote.

I can get the information for that if needed but what is the issue? What does the picture look like after the move?

The picture is shifted slightly left. This is really obvious when set at narrow format - the grey bar on the left is thinner than the bar on the right

you may want to download a free manual for your exact model.

All Mitsubishi sets have 3 hidden menus:

Option Menu: used mainly for a hard reset of the set.

Circuit Adjust Menu : which will have height, width, CENTERING adjustments and many others.

Convergence adjust Menu: same as in customer menu but allows save of adjustments made.

Entry into each menu is done with the original remote and a 4 digit number code.

The reason you would want the manual is it will tell you what buttons on the remote do what once you get into the (in your case) circuit adjust menu.

Some buttons will allow you to scroll the items and others to adjust them; note also on screen will be numbers indicating the current setting of each item usually with numbers. You want that so you can if you try to center picture left or right to know what original setting was in case adjusting does not help.

I have the codes for all three but confirm actual model number and get the manual so you know in your model what remote buttons do what.

Red green color convergence issue. original remote control is broken. can't access menu screen with universal remote.

If you do not have menu button on front Press and hold at same time CH- & CH+ this should let menu come up then use Vol- VOl+ to adjust and CH- CH+ to move up and down menu

Where are the covergence controls in ws55809 tv located

All convergence adjustments on this set are done with the original remote control--you will find the CONVERGENCE in the customer menu---if set will not adjust there you have a circuit problem.

I have fixed hundreds of these sets--if it will not adjust let me know and I can tell you what is needed to fix it.

Repairman tried to set convergance but got my picture size too large. I need to know code he punched in remote to get to diag.

With the set turned on and using the original remote enter:

0, 6, 2, 5, 9, 7 and then hit Status on the remote--this will take you into the convergence mode(tech)

Instructions on the screen will tell you hit menu to adjust(you use the cursors to adjust) and Status to navigate the grid(2,4,8,6 will navigate)---when you are done hit Status 2 times and then scroll down to SAVE--save as you go.

These sets may take a lot of time to adjust--and if you have HD the set has to be adjusted separate in the HD mode.

Let me know if you have problems--I am here to help--a vote here would be nice.

Regards, SD TECH

Projection TV2_bing.gif sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung2_bing.gif, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith2_bing.gif, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit from the link below.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D2_bing.gif
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash2_bing.gif focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from
