Question about PC Desktops

I am trying to install Office Professional 2007 and get an error saying " Setup cannot find Proofing.en-us/Proff.es/Proof.cab" and asks for a directory where to find it.....obviously I have no idea and setup can't continue

Hello, am sure you have problem withe either with the disc or your cd drive. change your cd rom or you get a new office software.

It means your Office CD data is corrupted or missing. Get another good copy of the CD

DO NOT ENTER ANY KEY OR DO NOT OPEN ANY MicroSoft Document file AND JUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS



STEP 1 == >

Open Regedit

go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > OFFICE > 12.0 > REGISTRATION > { 30120000 }

And then Delete These three files

- DigitalProductID

- LicenseType

- TrialType


STEP 2 == >

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office 12\Office Setup Controller\Proof.en

Inside the folder, edit the xml file in notepad/wordpad...
...find where it says





and replace "AlwaysInstalled" with "neverinstalled" and save.

Sorry, but Access is only avalable in Office Professional and Office Ultimate.

Cant' install MS Office 2007 from CD to Emachine EL1600


First of all completely uninstall office 2007
Then start it by right clicking on setup file and choosing "Run as Administrator" option,
and keep the missing file search location handy
and provide when asked.
It will solve ur problem
If not buzz me , I will give you an sureshot but a little lenghty for you

Installing microsoft office enterprise 2007 ge response setup cannot find office en-us/officeR.cab. browse to valid installation source


If you are using a cd make sure there are no smudges on the data side (side with no writing), if that doesnt work try coping all the files from the cd to a folder and try installation from there.
