E0000713-0004 This is an intermitten error code we keep getting on a canon 6800 with an R-1 finisher. we even swapped out the finisher and the code still happens. We swapped out the main board on the copier as well as the harness that goes to the finisher.

We swapped out the DC controller board, the main controller board, scan interface board, the wire harness from the finisher to the main control board. Not sure at the moment which one was on the rear left, but we replace the one on the left and right. Lastly all the firmware has been updated. I look forward to hearing your suggestions. Thanks!

you are correct. no finisher copier runs without a problem. at this point we are thinking there is a pinch wire, but its wierd that this problem just came up... not sure how a wire got pinched. before this problem came up, it was 3 mos before the last svc call. So it wasn't tech induced, (they can be the hardest problems).

If you swapped the finisher and still get it that means it is in the copier ....you said you swapped the board is it the one on the left rear..

ok you swapped the main controller and did not get a different code??? they are serielized to the copier interesting so as long as the finisher is not hooked up you dont get the code??

  • andzulisv Dec 23, 2008

ok so have you looked and see if youat least have power to the finisher if you do that would narrow it down to the wires running from the sorter connector to the dc controller . But wait this may not be it but you might want to look under ADD FUNC common settings then the one that says limited functions mode ... you want to make sure that is not turned on you can run the machine after it detects an error ... you have to reset this feature every time then turn the copier off and on

I have canon MP510 and I have a probem because my canon have a code 6800. What can I to do? Pleas for helps

Unfortunately error 6800 is an eeprom write error. You will not be able to cure this without replacing the scnt board (main board). The cost of a new board and labour would almost equate to the cost of a replacement machine. Cut your losses and buy another machine. Srri

Hej I get an error code 6800 Regards Ivan

Service error 6800 means that a problem occurred in reading from or writing to the EEPROM. To fix this you need to replace the logic board. For replacement you can try http://www.partsalliance.com or http://www.ppsnj.com

Canon i850, service error 6800

This error indicated that the internal printer counter for the waste ink sponge has reached its threshold. You should be able to reset this counter once without cleaning the sponge.

Do this:

1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

now try press resume button 4 times..after that press the power button
This should clear your error and let you resume printing. If you start getting ink smudges on the paper you will have to disassemble the printer and clean the waste toner sponge.
