Since your replacing the faceplate only, only remove the screws on the outside border. not the two on the right side of the battery.
* The bottom silver screw (located on the bottom part, opposite the top part, which has the USB port)
* The top left black screw (underneath the battery)
* The bottom left black screw (underneath the battery and the left side of the warantee sticker)
* The top right screw (located on the back side of the psp in a hole on the outer casing)
* The bottom right screw (located on the back side of the psp in a hole on the outer casing)

Then do the reverse to put it back together.

Analog sticks on the PSP do wear out depending on how heavily you use it, if its been more than a year since purchasing it, then you could buy a psp 2000 joystick from amazon and unscrew the faceplate and unscrew the current analog stick and then replace it.

My psp doesnt read the games inside my memory card

1. Does your PSP have a customized firmware (CFW) already?

2. If you just bought a new PSP, definitely it can not read the games inside the memory stick. You need to upgrade the original firmware of your PSP into customized firmware CFW.

Sony is full of it. Yes you can repair it. All you need is a brand new nub (joystick). You can find it on the net for about $5 less shipping depending on your model it is not hard to replace. On a phat (old school psp there are seven screws holding the faceplate. Once the faceplate is off there are two screws holding the nub in place. The slim is almost the same there is seven screws holding the faceplate but the only difference is the last two screws you have to take off is on the top. And once the faceplate is off it's the same two screws holding the nub in place. Replace and screw back in.

Psp umd door problem

If the PSP that you bought is a pre-owned, bring it back to the retailer/dealer.

If you bought it brand new, you probably have 1yr warranty. Bring it to SONY.

Hey buddy FORMAT DISC means PAL games or NTSC games format.

There are 2 formats dics in this world for the PS1,PS2,PSP,Wii,Gamecube.etc

They are [NTSC] and [PAL]

[NTSC] is for North America and Japan ONLY. [NTSC] is Original games.

[PAL] is for Asia Only. Which is copied games form the Originals.

I need to know were did you bought PS2 Console from ?

If you bought it in North America or Japan then you have to buy and play Original games from North America Only.

If you bought your PS2 in Asia then you can play copied games.

It is most likely your PS2 is a NTSC, your PS2 cant read any PAL games so it will say format dics.

I know what the problem is your analog base is faulty you can buy a new one online. not the thumb thats removeable the base itself youl have to take off your psp faceplate which means removing the warrenty tag but its what you have to do.
