Put in your Windows install disc and do a repair installation. Your master boot record seems to be corrupted. By doing a repair install of Windows it will fix the MBR. All of your data will stay intact.

What operating system are you running? Also, have you downloaded or installed any programs lately ? If so, try pressing F8 at boot to start in safe mode and uninstall the most recent programs in "add & remove programs" in control panel.

Although the 5S-FE and 7A-FE engines are not listed as interference motors (it is not listed by the manufacturer as a motor whose valves might contact the pistons if the camshaft was rotated separately from the crankshaft) Check your piston rings, did plugs have oil on them.

Toshiba A205-S5880 will not boot up. Turned complter on and it goes to safe mode but unable to get to - restore factory settings Windows 7 installed.

On startup try pressing F8 repeatedly. Try last known good configuration from there. If that doesnt work, let the computer go to safe mode, then select the start orb and search "system restore". Go through the on-screen instructions to restore your computer to an earlier point. If all this is still unsuccessful you might want to take the computer into your local computer repair shop. (It may be hardware i.e. hard drive)

Wont start up has power but when i start just times out and goes off

Battery is not fully charging or has failed. (replace and recharge) Also, CPU may be overheating/failing. This requires thorough cleaning and vacuuming of the laptop. I would suggest professional service. Disassembling a laptop is not for the first timer by any means! Finally, there is a chance that the power connector at the rear of the laptop is beginning to loosen at the PCB where it is soldered in. This is a common failure point, and again, sadly requires professional repair. As you can see, all roads pretty much lead to a professional close-up evaluation.
