Question about Epson ACULASER CX11NF All-In-One Printer
I had this same problem. I'm not 100% positive how I solved it as all of a sudden it just started closing again. I believe the secret was to do this. While facing the back of the printer... hold your left hand with your thumb pointing directly toward you. Keeping your hand in that orientation, push on the left hand side of the tray door, so the direction of force is across your body (you're not pushing into the printer, you're pushing the door sideways slightly). Then as you're pushing it gently in that direction, close the tray door.

I solve this by pulling the E cover up whilst closing. I little force sometimes is needed.

The cover is closing a guide inside bottom part of m/c
I found that on this side of this guide you will see that there is a half moon piece that is pushed up by the cover. Clean these pieces as well as the guide on the cover. Works great

Check in all other openings and check inside Cover E again with a flashlight and make sure there is no left over paper possibly stuck on a roller.

Make sure that the printer is turned off.
Open the printer cover by pressing the latch on the left side of the printer and lifting the cover up all the way.
Warning: Opening the printer cover exposes the fuser, which is marked CAUTION Hot Surface Avoid Contact. Be careful not to touch the fuser. If the printer has been in use, the fuser may be very hot.
1. CAUTION Hot Surface Avoid Contact
Remove the developer cartridge.
Caution: When removing the developer cartridge, never touch the developing roller under the flap; otherwise, print quality may decline.
Remove the photoconductor unit.
Caution: Never touch the photoconductor unit's light-sensitive drum; otherwise, print quality may decline.
Remove the paper from the paper path.
Note: If paper is jammed at the fuser, grasp the bottom of the paper and pull it out.
Reinstall the photoconductor unit, and then the developer cartridge.
Close the printer cover.
Tap the edges of the stack of paper on a flat surface and carefully reload it into the MP tray. (Do not reload curled or wrinkled sheets.)
Printing automatically restarts from the page that jammed. If the Paper light stays on after removing all jammed paper, open and close the printer cover to clear the error.
