Use the original OS disk it came with. Go through the as if you're reinstalling the OS, but on the top menu when your hard drive icon comes up, select Utilities/Reset passsword. Select the user, and change password..best to leave it blank for now. It will prompt you the password has been reset ( no password.) Quit and restart machine under normal log in except with no password.

If you forgot your password, I am not for sure exactly what is the best way but I you can get into the BIOS setup page to reset the password or the worse case, you need to rerun your recovery on the new hard drive from fresh and setup everything as a new user then install Norton Ghost to do the cloning to bring back all content from your old drive. I hope that my solution is not a smart way but may give you some hints.
