    Hello Ted,

    Is the unit working otherwise?

    Fan blowing?

Can you see the high-voltage discharge plates glowing (faint purple) in a dark room? Or hear a buzz when you turn up the control knob?

    Thanks in-advance.

Hi Ted,

I probably do, but it's easier if you take it to your local hardware store or anyplace else they sell those little buss fuses. You should be able to read the rating faintly embossed on one of the metal caps. The ones I've seen in these purifiers are typically 1W (1 watt) and are often sold in little boxes of five for a few dollars.

If you have friends or relatives who do DIY (do-it-yourself) stuff, hobby electronics or car repair, you might check with them first - they are very common, and you might get it free for the asking.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks using Fixya.com,

Jon .

I should add a note - - another reason I can't supply is you that FixYa prohibits us from soliciting business when we do this unless we have written permission in-advance, which I don't yet have.

That, and it would cost you more in postage for me to ship it to you than to buy it yourself.

One minor correction - the fuse would be measured in amps, not watts.

    Good luck!

    Jon

You may need to replace the ceramic ozon plate. About $20.00.

Ecoquest fresh air not omitting ozone

Did you clean the plate contacts with alcohol? How old is the plate? Is the glue that holds the grid in place turning brown? If it is, it may need to be replaced. Call (336) 499-2505 and ask for free email supplemental cleaning instructions before you do anything else. The instructions may help you solve the problem.

A part fell off in my ecoquest car air purifier (Fresh Air To Go). It's the little side piece that the W shaped metal bar fits into. Without the side piece for the bar to go into, the top part cannot be...

Call Vollara (the new name for EcoQuest) to order the part. 1-800-989-2299. You may use #16618 as the dealer referral number if you are no longer in touch with the registered distributor who sold you the machine.

No fresh air smell from EcoQuest Fresh Air 2.0. What is the fix for this? Everything else seems to work

The FA2 uses several technologies for purification. The "normal" mode produces purifiers using the honeycomb RCI cell and UV light. This has little or no odor.
Open the back of the machine, or shine a flashlight through the front to make sure the white 4" plate is inserted, closest to the back screen. If it isn't, you'll need to either put one in, or order one from Vollara (new EcoQuest company name) @ 1-800-989-2299. You can use #16618 as the dealer referral number if you are no longer in touch with the registered distributor who sold you the machine.
When you turn the machine to "purifier," you should then detect the "fresh air" smell. You'll see square footage numbers, which you should set according to the immediate area, NOT total for the building! Also, the machine directs the air flow to the sides in a "V" shape, rather than straight ahead. So if you're standing close to the machine, smack-dab in the front/center, you may not be able to smell any of the purifier!
When the machine is on "Away" mode, the purifier and fan are ramped up to maximum strength, and you can choose 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours for this super-sanitization. At then end of that time, the machine will return to whatever setting you had it on for daily operation. No people or pets should be in the immediate area, because the purifier is strong and likely to be uncomfortable. (Set the timer for 2 or 4 hours less than the time you expect to be "away," to allow the purifier levels in the home to return to a pleasant level.)
Hope this helped.

Hi,

When that message appears the plate does not make good contact with the two contact points. You can use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to clean the points. After 1-2 years it is also advisable to change the purifier plate. Plates are about $15 and can be purchased at EcoQuest.com

If the plate is dirty (and this can unnoticeable grime-grease) clean the plate with 1 part clear ammonia and 1 part water. An old tooth brush works great.

Ecoquest fresh air repair

Regardless of unit the purifier plates may need replacement. How are the plates cleaned? Could it be that there is a residue from the cleaning agent present after cleaning? With new plates there is a little oil on the plates to prevent oxidation when in storage or transit. A little rubbing alcohol would do the trick.
Make sure the plates are dry before putting them back into the unit.

If the plates are seated right and clean you should see a faint purple glow on the plates when the unit is on purify.

Let me know if that's the case.
