Brother printer jams all the time

My NEW Brother MFC all in one printer jams everytime I try and print something out. This just started today. The paper seems to be loading crooked. On corner goes in perfect but the other corner doesn't. I have cleared the jam each time but it keeps on jamming. The machine has gone thru a cleaning cycle and I have made sure the paper is in the tray correctly--not to tight against the back of the tray, etc. Can any one help? Thanks email

Re: Brother printer jams all the time

Great solution here,i was having the exact same problem to the point where i was going to send it back. When you select your paper under general setup on your printer, glossy, plain, must also select the same, glossy, plain, inkjet under printing preferences when you select what printer your going to use.

Be sure the paper tray is not over full and maybe even fan the paper before loading. Check all the corners that hold the paper as they are usually adjustable for different paper sizes and sometimes move or become unattached. The paper must lay flat and snugly in all places in the tray to load properly.

Hello FixYa, I have a problem with my Brother MFC-240C. Everytime I try to print something I get a paper jam error message. I have tried opening the back cover and removing the paper but it still does...

This is not a fix, but a troubleshooting step. After you perform this step, please respond and let me know the outcome.

Take a small stack of paper (less than 50 sheets) and place flat in a refrigerator overnight. After the paper has been in there for at least 8 hours, pull it out and fan it (to remove static cling between the sheets). Place in the printer and see if the paper will feed correctly.

If it does, then your problem is high humidity which is a common cause for paper sticking together and causing paper jams. If it doesn't, then you've probably got a torn piece of paper somewhere in the paper path that is causing a jam. Either way, let me know your results so I can help you troubleshoot your issue.

I have a brother mfc 7420 and every time I print it tells me paper jam, I pull the paper tray out fix the paper push start it tells me paper then I have to pull out the cartridge and pull out the paper...

Sounds like there is something in the paper track that's causing this to jam. Its not always easy to get small particles cleared just by removing the jammed paper.

This may not help everyone that I send it to, but it is worth a try.
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press
the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer.
The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Brother mfc-420cn printer envelope jam

If you did not get ALL the jammed sheet out, there is still a small piece of paper in there somewhere, probably covering a sensor or micro switch. Get a torch and look carefully. If you don't find anything you may need to disassemble the printer to find it

Error 50 after jammed paper on brother MFC-240c

I had this too, I had to open the back of the machine, it is meant to open and pull out and clear the jam (pull out the crinkled paper) but everytime I tried to print again it kept saying that it still had the jam, I opened and closed it several times and it did not seem to register that I HAD CLEARED THE JAM, so what I did was unplug it from the wall and then plug it back in and then it was fine. I wonder if this is AN ACTUAL DEFECT with this machine, if ater a paper jam it cannot detect that it has been resolved without having to unplug it and plug it back in, HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU.
