Though You SHould as well Check For Proper Power To Your CHarger Cord.. Not all AC Cords That Have Their Lights On Are Able To Charge...

To CHeck If It's The DC Jack... Remove Your Battery..... Plug In the AC Adapter Cord... Power On... If You Get No Lights/ No Power/ No Fans Etc..... It's Your DC Jack

Unplug and remove the battery pack for safety. DOn't want any shorts to happen. With the laptop open, gently pry with a very small blade the plastic cover at the front of the swivel and remove. It is in two pieces...front and back. It is OK to leave the rear half in place. Once removed you must close the laptop again. You will now have access to the screws on the hinges. Use a small Robertson screwdriver to tighten the screws. Snap the cover back in place....Voila!. IF the screws are broken (like mine were) remove all the good screws, gently lift and move the screen slightly forward, remove the broken screws with some needle nose pliers. Reassemble with new screws. I found some screws at the local computer geek shop in his selection of random screws. THey are quite tiny. CHeck Future Shop if they are in your area as they deal and repair Gateway so you may have a better chance of finding some screws that work. Good Luck.

Go to www.mundocorp.com. They sell Gateway Laptop repair parts. THey list the Stylus for about $44.00 US Which is a good deal. I paid $89 CDN for my replacement direct form Gateway whey they were still available there.
