Not all older monitors have the correct monitor.inf information for the newer operating systems. Look for a new monitor.inf file download that matches your monitor for Windows 8.
in 15pin connector of the monitor, red wire goes to pin No:1 green wire goes to pin no:2 blue wire goes to pin no:3 yellow wire goes to pin no:13 white wire goes to pin no:14 and black wire goes to 5&15. Now display will come!

at another end same letters will see take continuty and join new cable
