Question about Asko Dishwashers

2 Answers

I have an Asko Model 1473/1503 with the word excellence on the front door panel. It is approx 14 yrs old. I noticed that the main switch has been failing and that I have had to giggle it about to latch. It has now completely given up the ghost and there is zero power to the dishwasher. The CB is on . I believe I have to change the main switch but I have no idea how to get at it to remove and replace it. Any ideas?

Call these guys, ther may be a diagram on their site, but I have called them several times in the past and they knew almost immediatlly what I needed and sent it right out. These dishwashers are like toys they all snap together, you may have to remove the front panel, but it's just a ,matter of a dozen or less screws, and the switch more than likelly has two more in it, it's really easy once you have the parts, and you will save a couple hundred dollars. After having one of the touch sensor machines, I now get the simple ones that I can fix myself, good luck, Gym

First of all tell me what you do intend for main switch, that main switch is usually all in one with the thermostat switch, and it is quite easy to remove.

If this is the door latch, let me know the model number, so that I can give you schematics, see help finding the model number on your appliance

Why does it always have a bad smell

I noticed our old Asko 1473 had also been smelling for a while. I needed tor replace the seal on the bottom of the door as it was well past its best by date. There was a lot of smelly gunk behind it which I removed when replacing the seal. It now has no bad smells. I had to pull the door apart in this model to clean it out.

Machine not starting , door not closing well, no click from locking mechanism

The door latch and or door handle assembly which also holds the door switch may have brocken.

If the door latch does not shut properly, this will not close your door micro switch. And if the switch is not closed then the machine will not operate.

Turn off machine at the power source. Open the dishwasher door. You may want to put some weight on the door to stop it from springing back up.

If you have a star allen key or a star shaped tool, you can open the screws around the stainless steel plate of the dishwasher door. Start with the ones on top, which secure the control panel and door lock. See if you can remove the control panel gently without having to open the screws for the front door panel. Sometimes you may need to loosen the front panel screws to free the top control panel.

Once you remove the panel, you will notice a door handle assembly which also holds the micor switch. Take note of how it is set up. Also examie to see if any plastic parts are broken. You may need to order the complete door latch or door handle assembly and replace.

While doing this make sure the machine is turned off at the power source.

Good luck.

Asko 1805 - inside light is on, none of the operation (front panel) lights turn on

Quite simple after all. If the main power button on the top left hand side of the door is pressed in (on). Whenever the door is openned their is a light in the DW which comes on like the fridge or oven.

Keeping the power button off turns the light off. For us this is good as we usually only close the door fully (catch catches) when we run the machine. This way we are not wasting electricity.

New Asko Dishwasher. Both the appliance store

Make certain the door switch is making contact and the switch is good. Open the front panel and trace all the wires, especially where they go from the door to the underside of the DW. Look for a broken or pinched wire.

How to remove main pushbutton switch from asko d1716 dishwasher

Hi I read your enquiry of how to remove the pushbutton swith.

You have to open the door, and remove the back panel of the door to release the front protecting cover panel. This is the only way to release the pushbutton. Do not forget to disconect the mains to avoid an electric shock.

Hope I have been of help
