You can take plumbers tape and wrap about 5 to 8 turns around the shaft threads and put blade on and cap. (Plumbers tape is white plastic tape on a roll with a pop off cap like medical tape comes in)

Remote? Maybe batteries.

Unfortunately, Al, Windchaser has been out of business for about 6+ months and finding replacement parts are like looking for a needle in a haystack.There may be a substitute for it, but it would mean reprogramming or replacing the receiver in the unit. In my searches, I have not been able to find a universal replacement for AC units. However, there is one place you might try

Go to Windchaserproducts.com and contact customer service and ask for a replacement remote control. It will probalby cost you for a replacement plus shipping. Good luck!

if the problem appears to be only in your remote control for wide off button, and other button function seems not affected... i suggest that u clean the remote control inside, of course you need to disassemble it and clean the rubber pad. esp. the wide off button. it happens when the carbon contact was cover w/ dirt...last sol. is to buy a new "same" remote...

As the remote is not working please

1.check the batteries are properly installed with correct polarity.(+ and -)

2.Check weather correct remote operating is set.(TV,VCR etc)

If both are OK then please programm your remote again with the TV.As you removed your battries it might reset the code



When using buttons on TV it says CHILD LOCK is ON.

Child lock fuction is to prevent children operating buttons in TV console. This can be set only by remote. Cannot set by TV console Buttons.If this fuction is activated you cannot use the TV console buttons.

i have two one completely stoped but my other had ur same problem i took it apart and oiled it with wd40 theres two motors oil them both amazing that this was all it needed and it still works i love this fan but its is dicountinued good luck

I have a Windchaser fan mode FTR184 also and it is in the same indicator STANDBY mode and now it will not come on and we have the remote, how do you fix this?
