Create a folder on your View (in MSC mode) named "PODCAST". DO NOT put it in your MUSIC folder, but in the root directory. Place your Podcasts in there and disconnect your Sansa. After it refreshes you'll find your Podcasts under "Music\Podcasts" on your View :)

what is the size of the podcast mp3? Many podcasts don't actually send you an mp3 of the podcast, but a link embedded in the mp3 that streams the podcast to your player of choice. (twit does this, fairly frustrating) if the mp3 is not very large, that is probably why.

What is podcast

A podcast (or netcast) is a series of digital media files (either audio or video) that are released episodically and often downloaded through web syndication.
The mode of delivery differentiates podcasting from other means of accessing media files over the Internet, such as direct download, or streamed webcasting. A list of all the audio or video files currently associated with a given series is maintained centrally on the distributor's server as a web feed, and the listener or viewer employs special client application software known as a podcatcher that can access this web feed, check it for updates, and download any new files in the series. This process can be automated so that new files are downloaded automatically. Files are stored locally on the user's computer or other device ready for offline use, giving simple and convenient access to episodic content. Commonly used audio file formats are Ogg Vorbis and MP3.
Academics at the Community, Journalism & Communication Research group at the University of Texas at Austin in the USA are proposing a four-part definition of a podcast: A podcast is a digital audio or video file that is episodic; downloadable; programme-driven, mainly with a host and/or theme; and convenient, usually via an automated feed with computer software.

How do you place a podcast (MP3) into the podcast folder on the Sansa View?

Make sure you're Sansa is in MSC mode (go to settings/options, then "system settings", then "USB Mode", then MSC -- this option is available if you've updated your firmware to v01.03.02a). Connect your Sansa via USB cable and then open "My Computer", double-click on the Sansa View icon and create a new folder called "PODCAST". Place Podcasts in this folder, then close the window and "safely" remove your Sansa from the USB port. After the Sansa refreshes itself, go to "MUSIC" then "PODCASTS" and you should see your file(s)!

Maybe the new firmware will fix this.

"OGG placed in Audiobook or podcast folder shows up in Music directory." (see below)

01.01.30

Enhancements:
  • FLAC decoder support
  • Allow Podcasts to skip episodes using FF / REW
  • New startup and shutoff images
  • Improved the time to rebuild the metadata
  • Improved M3U playlist support
  • Enhancements for sorting Podcast contents which do not have their track number ID3 tag information
  • Separate missing license error message for Audible and generic Audiobooks. Message changed to instruct the customer in how to resolve the problem
Bugs Fixed:
  • OGG placed in Audiobook or podcast folder shows up in Music directory
  • Delete song from a long playlist causes the device to hang
  • Selecting “Back to Music List” while playing FM/Voice recordings will display double “Play All” on screen & will cause device to hang upon selecting “Play All”
  • Certain tag information for mp3 files will cause the device to hang or freeze
  • Made OGG file Tags not case sensitive
  • Noise problem on voice recording
  • Device in MTP mode will jump back to AutoSelect mode after UI format
  • Device behaves erratically when file extension got changed (i.e. .txt to .mp3, .jpg to .wma)
  • All Audiobooks should show 1/1 if Chapter Mode is OFF
  • Certain Rhapsody tracks show clicking noises
  • Deactivation message “Synchronize to listen to your Audiobooks” for Audible is uninformative and irrelevant

How to download abc podcast

The sandisk c200 is not an ipod and therefore will not support a podcast. I have gone to abc radio, through internet explorer, and it looks like if you click on the podcast section then find the one you want to put on, it is already in mp3 form. If your your having trouble putting the mp3's onto the sandisk, simply plug it into you computer, open the folder my computer, and it should be listed in that folder. ( most likely as drive Drive (D:) ) . Drag any songs you want into the drive its listed as and it will be on the sandisk.

Are you downloading podcast videos or audio files?

Also, do you have your iPod to sync manually or automatically? Change it to manually if it is auto, then you can put the podcasts from your library onto your podcast folder on the ipod in iTunes.
