Quality degradation every 20 mins...

Hey i have a trust 510ex sound card and a 5.1 surround system. it starts fine but for some reason after around 20 mins the sound degrades instantly and causes some songs to skip or games to slow down. the only way i can fix this is to open the trust control panel and change to 4 speakers then back to 5 speakers and it works again for around 20mins. it is very frustrating. any suggestions?

How to stop music from playing music while surround sound is on the tv

First make sure the cables around the television and the surround sound system are not damaged. Then make sure the any grounding on the external sheathing of the cable is making good contact and that the braiding is not touching any other cable under the plug. You could try some better aftermarket connecting cables, and the ones that come with systems are used for price cheapness. Keep a space between cables and don't wrap them around each other. If none of that works, get some Ferrite Rings and thread three on each cable to the surround sound system, one at each end of the cable and one in the middle.

Cables with good braiding and gold flashed connectors as shown on this page are an indication of quality.

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

Rear and Centre speakers not working

The system comes with l remote which provides controls for "Power", "Master Volume", "Bass (Subwoofer) Volume" and "Matrix Mode" . Matrix mode allows you to spread stereo sound to all speakers where your sound card may not have the ability to do so.
I find that the "Stereo Surround" setting works best as opposed to the recommended "CMSS" setting

Sound from 4 speakers cut off..

To troubleshoot a speaker system where sound is not issuing from all speakers, please do the following:
  1. Verify that all cables are plugged in correctly. Make sure the rear and/or center/sub audio cable is plugged in to the correct port. On most surround sound cards, the rear audio port is black, the front audio port is green, and the center/sub audio port is orange. If you do not have a surround sound card, make sure you obtain the proper adapter (discussed in the next paragraph) or use surround sound emulation if your speaker system offers it. If you are not sure if you have a surround sound card, please check with the manufacturer of your sound card for details.
  2. Make sure your sound card supports the same amount of channels as your speaker system contains. For 4.1 systems, it should have a front and rear speaker jack on the card. For 5.1 systems, the card should have a front, rear, and center/sub, output. The card should be properly installed and configured. Please contact your sound card manufacturer for details. If you do not have a surround sound capable sound card, you can use the source selector switch or the M3D button on the controller unit (if available). You can also use an adapter to split the signal for the front and rear speakers. This type of adapter is a 3.5mm male to 2-3.5mm female jacks. You can purchase this adapter at your local electronic store. Please refer to your manual if you do not know if your speaker system can emulate surround sound.
  3. Try connecting the speakers to a portable sound device such as a walkman or portable CD player. Plug the speakers into the headphone jack, but make sure the volume is lowered so the speakers are not over powered. You can do this for both the front, rear, center/sub speakers to verify that they work. If the speaker system works on the walkman, then you are experiencing a configuration issue with your sound card. Please contact your sound card manufacturer.
  4. Check the system Volume Control located in the System tray. Make sure that the volumes are at a reasonable level and are not checked for Muting.
