Weird /not the right colors on screen

My sony pfm-50c1 was working perfectly until i powered it on and noticed all of the colors are bizarre. i was running a visualization studio with music earlier, do you think this could have wrecked the screen due to the changes in colors? I've tried unplugging it and changing power sources and its still doing the same results.

the colors are mostly magenta and light blue, with some neon green and yellow thrown in the mix

I tried to hook up another VGA connection from my computer to the plasma and its showing the same off/bizarre colors but mostly yellow. Before that I hooked up a xbox 360 from component male to female coupler RCA to VGA to component male. Both were working fine for the past couple of days, I dont understand it

I had the same problem and found out that my kids had been messing with the remote control and put the screen saver on (not the first screen saver option but the second option which make it look kinda like a photo negative) i disabled it and got my normal picture back.

It is not likely that anything played through would effect the unit other than perhaps a burn-in image if you displayed the exact same image for an extended period of time. Can you better describe the "bizarre colors"? In what way are they off?

If I understand you correctly, the colors appear to lean toward the purple side correct? If so, check to verify that you are sending RGB signals and that the set is expecting RGB. Leaning toward the purple suggests that you are sending RGB and the TV is expecting component (Y,Pb,PR).

    Keep me posted.

Hello MDay02,
Your problem maybe your X board which is the same as PCB X sustain. Changing the fuse in this case may NOT solved your problem. If you are handy, you may be able to change the board yourself. Vertical Black line on display

Rakesh, You have a "dual scan" panel, this is why the line only decends down the screen half-way. This could be a connection problem on the buffer board which causes loss of the drive signal only to that part of the display which it is connected to. The vertical address buffer will be located on the top rear of the display, use great caution in inspecting these cables and connectors. If the integrity of the cable and connector is good the panel itself may be bad due to the drive IC being located on the ribbon cable attached to the panel body. this is better known as COF or, chip-on-film technology. I hope this helps you. Good luck. Joe Weibel CustomElectronics.Org
