Not enough free space

Hi, I am trying to download updates and codes on the action replay for the DS and it tells me, ( failed to write a file due to not enough free space ) so I tried again and now the DS reads as follows, ( Now ready to update Action Replay DS - Please connect your PC via USB to receive updates. - Listing contents .. - Deleting all files - Writing: YW2E-6E2AAFE5 ) and all it says on the bottom is, ( UPDATING... ) with a full red bar under it. The screen has been this way for 20 minutes, is it locked up? or what do I do to finnish updating? Thank you for you time, Steve

1/ With the console powered off, hold A+B.
2/ Power up the console while still holding A+B.
3/ As soon as the Nintendo screen is displayed, before our screen stating this product is not endorsed by Nintendo, press and hold Start and Select while keeping hold of A+B.
4/ Continue to hold these buttons until the Main Action Replay screen is displayed, then release. Your product is reset, and will accept codes once more.

You must reset teh Action Replay like this :

1) turn off the console completely. Take out any games in the action replay, then put the actioni replay back into your DS.

2) Hold the buttons, A and B down and continue to do so as you turn on your DS.

3) Wait for the main Action Replay screen to show up and then go to the home page. At this time it should be reset and you can once again enter codes in.

Ps. I know becaue I had to, and this happened to me.

Pss. Do not have the USB cord directly inserted to the DS at all times while resetting or it will corrupt the data on your computer as well. :P also found that out. xD

My action replay zeroed out.

the ds cartridge need to be reset.

do it by using this method.
  1. With your console powered off insert the Action Replay DS
  2. Hold down buttons A+B
  3. Turn your console on
  4. With A+B still held down, as soon as you see the Action Replay DS license screen press and hold down buttons START+SELECT so that you now have 4 buttons held down
  5. Hold all 4 buttons down for around 10 seconds until the Action Replay DS loads to it`s home screen
  6. If Action Replay DS doesn’t hold on the license screen for around 10 seconds when you do this, you may need to turn off and try again
you can tell if it needs resetting by;
Code Manager PC software is reporting that Action Replay DS does not contain enough free space when it actually contains no codes.
* Code Manager PC software is reporting the console`s battery is low when it’s actually fully charged.
* Multicoloured bars are shown on the screen after you confirm the entry of a game ID when trying to manually enter codes. * You can use the Code Manager PC software without any problems until the Action Replay DS is connected via USB set to the update mode on the console, at which point Windows shows a run time error.

If you are experiencing any of these problems, please follow the steps below to reset the Action Replay DS hardware. Please beware that resetting the Action Replay DS hardware will not restore a default codelist, and any codes which are stored on the Action Replay DS will be erased.

What does it mean when action replay is unable to download codes because it does not have enough space to write a file?

sounds like your action replay device might be to full, try deleting some files off of there to free up some space and then try to download again.

My action replay code manager is empty and I want to add pokemon

You need to restart your action replay.

to do this follow these steps.

1. hold A and B while turning on your DS.

2. at the Nintendo screen hold start and select.(still holding A and B.)

3. Let go when the screen saying, nintendo dose not''blah blah'' this product.

4. Turn off when you see the action replay title screen.

Once restarted try and add a code.
I had the same problem, but i did the above.

Action replay not enough freee space

First, you need to start up your Action Replay, after passing the warning screen for the DS, hold these four buttons A+B+SELECT+START; the white screen for the AR will remain there for a little while longer, just be patient

When the normal menu screen pops up, let go of the buttons

Plug your DS into your computer and you should be ready to go!

Freeing up memeory on ds lite

To free up memory on your Action Replay, just delete the codes of games that you don't have either through the DS or the Code Manager. CodeJunkies gives you hundreds of games/codes, I only have ten games (give or take a few), which means the other 90-some games are just sitting there hogging space

Ds action replay

I just had this problem earlier today:

First, turn on your DS, and after the warning screen (at the white screen for the AR) hold these four buttons: A+B+SELECT+START, the white screen will be there for a little while longer, be patient and keep holding down the buttons

When the Menu screen shows up, let go of the buttons

Plug your DS into your computer and you will be able to add codes again. You may not have all your codes from earlier, but that's what the quick update's for (It'll be worth it to be able to input codes again)
