Hi StevieB Try following.1/Prepare a handy tool (straightened paper clip) to insert into "reset" hole atop of H10 2/gently insert tool into reset hole and feel a click 3/ turn on H10 if this works great 4/if H10 continues to jam lock up then it may require reloading firmware sounds complicated but easy steps available chk iRiver support website

well it seems you deleted your songs but not the titles. weird huh but that happened to me too. so hook it up to your computer, go to " my computer", and then right the icon that is your device, and then click format and that should take care of that.
I had the same "Cannot play" problem - happened suddenly, I don't think I was doing anything unruly at the time.
After checking repair (exchange) prices in excess of $250 from Sony, I decided to open the cover to see if I could see anything wrong - normally a futile exercise with electronics except that in the past I have cleared errant disks that have lodged themselves near the drive/player at the rear of the library.
Upon opening and watching the library try to load and play I noticed the drive itself was not spinning the disk once loaded. It would sit for awhile, thinking about it I'm sure, then would unload and load the next dvd, again failing to spin.
I thought okay, maybe try to spin the dvd while in the player to see if it's jammed or otherwise hard to turn. It was not hard to turn and spun freely. In fact, when I put my finger through the hole at the exposed side of the player at the hub to spin the dvd, clockwise, it suddenly started to spin - and play!
I put the whole thing back together to test and all seems to be working fine at this point. Not sure what would cause the motor to stop spinning and remain in that state through poweroff/on cycles etc. but I'm sure this is not the last time I will have trouble of this kind.
I would note that when replacing the library back in its home on the shelf, be careful not to tip the library, especially toward the player area because the disks will spill out of the carousel near the player and become jammed when you power it on and attempt to load. A final tip of the library away from the player area may clear this if you hear the disks rolling out of their slots and you don't want to open the top again (it's a darned heavy box when fully loaded).
this problem seems to be common
it can happen if you dont safely remove the iriver from the computer
i havent found a fix for this problem anywhere
but ill purchace your iriver if you cant find a fix..

Mine did that too. I tried everything, and then, last night, noticed that the volumn on the screen would change with the button, but always return by itself to level 20. Anyway, I discovered that the volumn button(s) were sort of jammed into the unit. I popped it back out with my fingernail and voila, the player worked fine and faster then when I bought it. I think it was jammed a little from the factory, or else I pushed it in the middle or sideways. I spent hours and hours with formatting, firmware, batteries, useless phone calls to Siren, etc. Check for a jammed button. Too bad Siren doesn't have a true to life support site and/or a usable e-mail address and phone number. They make millions and should be sued for no support. Thanks walmart......
