BA735nalog I have a set of BA735 speakers with the analog option. I have it hooked up but only one satellite (the one with the volume control) and the woofer produce sound. And, even with the volume turned up high, there isn't much sound at all. Any ideas? ....Lance

Speakers wont work when i hook them up to my laptop ,but work fine when hooked up to my desktop pc...What could i do to fix this?

Your laptop needs to be able to send digital audio. Double-click your Volume Icon, click on Options/Advanced Controls (if it's available). Under there is a checkbox to enable 'Digital Only' mode. If Advanced Options is grayed out, you'll have to use analog external speakers...

Won't work with new computer

I would suggest going to START>Control Panel>Sound HQ(or something similar, like Sounds and Audio Devices etc). From this point youll want to make sure, under the Sounds or Output tab, that your Boston Acoustics are selected. If theyre not listed, try to pick whatever it is your plugging into(Say a jack thats on the computer, look for something like "Internal Port" or "Dell Ports" for your computer name.) Please PM or send me an email if the problem persists

Re: Boston digital BA735. Hum with or without input signal.

Hmmm I just got the same problem. They worked fine on my old Dell desktop but when I plugged them in to my son's old Dell PC (maybe 1 year newer than my old one) they all hum like crazy - as you say even if it's just the power plugged in and nothing else. Yes it does have the original power supply. I get no music (but still it hums) from digital out/in but when I switch to analog out/in I hear the music and it still hums, plus the sound is distorted. Wierd.

Worked last week computer crashes now restored speakers don't work now. another set of speakers work. &35's won't work on a different computer, Powers up clicks when plugged in but no sound /

You said, other speakers worked fine ono that pc right? And the speakers doesn't on other computers? Then surely the speakers are now defective. It might be the wirings or internal parts of the speaker. Check warranty of the speakers, if it is expired, then you have to replace the speakers.

Connecting BA735 digital 3.5mm plug with S/PDIF coax jack

The male mono plug (from the left small speaker) should be connected into the right speaker (small speaker with controls) . After plugging the multi pin cable from the control speaker to the sub-woofer you need to plug in a signal source from your computer (or any other digital signal) into the sub-woofer. This digital input looks like an ordinary RCA plug but carries many channels of audio. That connects to the enabled digital output of your computer. Some computers output digital through a 3.5mm jack others look just like an RCA phono jack. If you are lucky some BA735 sub-woofers have a second input that is a standard 3.5mm stereo jack and it will take analog audio from computer, DVD, MP3 player or the like. I have three sets of these speakers that I love because of their big volume considering such a small size.

I have a Dell Inspiron 630m computer with these speakers

Assuming you are using digital BA735.

Use the dongle that came with your Inspiron. It gives you a digital output which can go into the BA735 speakers.

I use one set of BA735 with two computers. Computer A sends digital out and Computer B sends analog. BA735 plays both. I listen to music using digital while the analog from the other computer alerts me to the incoming messages in Pidgin.

I did have to change bios settings on one computer to use the on-board audio.

To enable digital output in XP, click on the speaker icon > Advanced > Select Enable SPDIF. You can leave the PC Spk Mute unchecked if you want the analog output as well. That's all.

I hope you are able to enjoy the rich sound of BA735. It's beautiful. My ears thank a lot for replacing those desktop speakers. BA735 hardly takes up any space . Two small speakers are perched on the hutch and the bass module is somewhere behind the desk, completely invisible.

BA735 no sound but sound card works in analog mode.

this should be pretty easy to diagnose. both speakers have mini jacks right? if so, and you plug one pair of speakers in on say, port "A" and you get sound then if you plug your other speakers in on port "A" and you don't get any sound, the problem is with your speakers.
