You have two convergence amps that need to be replaced on the convergence board. This is a very common problem with these units. The part # are STK392-110 but I would upgrade to a STK392-120 or a STK392-150.Also there may be a couple of low ohm resistors that need replacing.Depending on your electronics experience this job is pretty much a straight forward soldering job that requires a certain amount of knowlege. These parts can be obtained from partsstore.com.I as a technician charge between$185.00 in shop and $250.00 inhome for this repair. It is well worth it as this particular chassis really did`nt hve very many problems, and once fixed you will have a like new picture.Good luck!!

My tv is showing to much red on screen

I don't have a lot to go on. If this is an older rear projection, this usually means the face of the green picture tube is dark (the picture goes purple-red) or there is too much red tube(excessive drive). This is a technical adjustment as it is in an area containing hazardous voltages. Adjustments will be a stop gap as rear projection TVs are all past their usable life span (About 8 years + with moderate use)

Red light wont show picture

This is either a bad capacitor somewhere in the tv, or the very common power supply/high-voltage transformer.

My Sony KP-46WT500 screen shows the tv image in blue only for a few seconds, then it goes completely blank (as if it were off). Do I need to replace the bulbs?

It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen.
Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while?
If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution.
Thanks.

MY problem with Sony KP-53S35 53 in. Rear Projection Television. When the TV powers on, the red light blinks until the picture comes on, then the red light blinks go off. I had to wait more than 5 minutes...

the number of flashes of the red indicator lamp points to the possible cause of the delay of the raster or picture, but usually it's an indicator of an emission unbalance between crt(picture tube) guns. the picture will take longer to show up as the emission on either of the picture tubes goes down.

Picture is wavy, dark and displays only black, blue and red.

Yes, send to repair, the problem you are showing is not a big problem for any regular workshop. The tv needs now a regular "maintenance" some parts are old or some solder joints are old, in any sense a "good day of service" working this tv in the bench is not really expensive.

Panasonic PT-51HX41 rear projection tv showing shadow/double images.

Unplug the TV from the ac wall outlet for about 4 minutes then plug it back in and turn it on. If it still has a double image then tell me if it's affecting the menu screen from the TV (not the cable menu). And is the double image in red and blue?
