Question about ASUS P5QL-E Motherboard, LGA775, Intel P43 + ICH10R, Dual DDR2, PCIe x16, SATAII, RAID, eSATA, Gigab

2 Answers

I just bought the Asus P5Q SE2 motherboard last night and when I went to boot up I got a blue screen error. I called support and he told me to take out one stick because I was using 4gb and use only 2. That seemed to solve the problem but after installing the new windows updates and making sure the bios and chipset were up to date when I try to install the other set of memory I get constant blue screens on booting. They are both in the slots B1 and B2. Can you assist me please?

My sticks are corsair dominator 1066. There are two 2gb sticks in the dimm b1 and b2 spots. They work fine.

Well, first of all, you need to know that the sticks are OK
Download a program calles Memtest86, there is a free version of it to download here
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=441115&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=3&submit.x=5&lang=en&cc=us

Now, do as the memtest manual say and test your sticks one by one, if they are OK then you know its your new MoBo causing the problems.

Good luck to you

Dear mariolama

It can be due to error in any newly installed hardware or software.
Most probably due to RAM. Check your RAM is perfect or not in other system. Or clean it and restart the system and check.

Is it at least powering up all your fans?? You might have a DOA (dead on arrival) Motherboard. What size is your power supply?? I would think that is is large enough with the 8800. Also, is your processor seated well?? Are your memory sticks seated well?? All silly questions I would think, but I thought I would throw them at you.

Everything worked with the other motherBoard right?? If all the questions are answered yes then I would RMA your board. Have it replaced via the warranty.
