Water has to be going somewhere. have you checked underneath the car and looked for leaks, has to be one somewhere and if you can see or find one it could very well be leaking in the heater core that is located in side the car. one way of telling if it is the heater core is to fill carpet on floor up under the dash to see if it is wet. could also be in the head itself. many things it could be but shouldnt be that hard to track down...hope this helps some and good luck.

SOURCE: OVER HEATING

In the fan circuit...You have a temp switch screwed on the radiator, a fuze and a relay in the fuze box plus a fan.  Swap the relay with another relay, replace the fuze.  The other fan should come on when the a/c is turned on.  If you fix the fans and it still overheats, you may have a BLOWN HEAD GASKET.  ALSO ARE YOU BLEEDING THE AIR FROM THE SYSTEM?  DO YOU SMELL EXHAUST IN THE COOLANT?

SOURCE: car is still overheating after new thermostat, new housing.....

bleed air out cooling system. put half antifreeze and half water .if you got too much water .it willl cause engine to over heat. antifreeze raise boiling point .220 degrees it wont boil away . water will evaporate 212 degrees.it will boil away .causing low coolant problems and over heating.

SOURCE: Leaking water from top of water tank

rad caps are common for trouble, bottom of rads leak and a pipe that clicks into the rad leaks.
there is a core plug at back of engine that leaks, gearbox and fly wheel has to come out.
why dont you add a dye so you can see where it has come out. have pressure tested it to 25 psi and left to see where leaking,

Overflowing from expansion tank on a 2003 chevy malibu

Have a cylinder leakage test performed to check your head gasket. It dosn't have to overheat to have a head gasket problem. A leakage test checks if looseing combustion gases to the cooling system which would presurise the system higher than normal which causes the tank to overflow.

Water is not circulating car gets hot and expansion tank fills then suddenly after some time it will **** the expansion tank dry and drive at normal temp again 1995 subaru legacy 250t

Sounds like your thermostat has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
Your thermostat is located under a metal housing on the top of the engine. The upper radiator hose connects to this housing. To change the thermostat you basically need to drain the radiator after your engine is cold, disconnect the upper radiator hose from the engine, and remove the bolts from the small housing. replace the thermostat, and clean the surfaces on both sides and replace the gasket too. reinstall the housing, attach the hose, and refill the radiator. start the engine, warm it up and check for leaks, then re check the coolant level after the engine cools off again

We have had some similar problems with some BMW's,the last one we replaced the expansion tank. Before we attached the upper radiator hose to the radiator we filled the engine with antifreeze through the hose.Install the hose and fill your expansion tank to the proper level and run the engine to operating temperature.

VW Scirocco overheats

On some water pipes there are plastic bleed units. You could also try and bleed the system as follows. Inside the car set the heater to full. Then take the cap off the exspansion bottle. Now run the car and feel for the heat from the heater. Also check the bottle for bubbles. Do not let the engine over heat.

Car overheating

Check whether water is coming out of the air bleeder pipe behind the carburator. If not, the heater unit water flow is blocked. You can notice this when turning off the engine. You can hear the water grumbling. at the back of the engine. Normally when it overheats the water flows back to the expansion tank and water will overflow through the cap. Make sure you are bleeding the air well after working on the water system of this car.
