Standby problem when my laptop goes on standby mode, it'll get stuck there! The only thing I can do to make it work again is to presss the power button for 5 seconds. As of the moment, I changed the setting of my laptop--NEVER standby!

Replace the batteries in the remote.

Sounds like the Switch Mode Power Supply is failing to Power Up.
Often Caused by Bad Electrolytic Capacitors inside the Power Supply Circuitry.
Probably a replaceable PCB Module.
Take it in to your dealer or Electronics technician.

If it's brand new, it's probably still programed for store display mode.go to settings and switch it off

try video reset

when ps3 is in standby mode(red light)
press and hold the power button till you hear a second beep.

standby mode press hold power........"beep"......"beep"..release power button

then try rebuilding the database and the file system in recovery consol

to get to the recovery consol press and hold the power button when ps3 is in standby mode(red light) till you hear a double beep. sometimes the ps3 does a beep then another beep and goes back into standby thsi is fine just release the power and quikly press and hold it again till you get double beep.

like on my 80g system it goes like this

ps3 standby...press hold power.......beep .........beep........stanby again....release and hold power again.......beep .........double beep...release power now you should be in recovery menu.

Ok, I want this off my screen. If it is stuck in standby mode as you say, press and hold the power button until the computer goes "dead." Then turn it back on. If this doesn't work, unplug it and take the battery out for a while.

Do a hard reset. Unplug it from the socket, the DVD and leave disconnected for 4 hours. This may or may not help, but it is a necessary step to restore all internal software codes to their factory settings.

I'm still not sure about your question. Let me quess that by saying power/standy light goes to red...that mean your computer
is going into standby mode.!!!! So do it this way..on the left or right top corner of your notebook not the monitor, you should be having a small pin pointing up..I think that pin is use when you close the lid of your Laptop and it make your laptop goes into standby mode.When I mean goes into standby(sleep mode) the first think you can notice that your monitor light will be off and you can still see a very light image.So maybe this pin is stuck try to push it down for several times..
