Question about Wacom Bamboo Fun 8.5" x 5.3" USB Tablet with Cordless Pen and Mouse - Black

1 Answer

My tablet pen occasionally stops responding.

I have a problem with my tablet pen (both the tablet and the pen brand new). Usually, it works just fine, but then suddenly stops responding for a moment (about 10-20 seconds) before starting to work again. During that time, both the table buttons and an USB mouse are working alright. I have noticed the CPU usage peaking when this 'lag' takes place.

I have updated the driver to the latest version, and I have tried plugging the tablet to different USB ports, but to no avail.

I'm using my Bamboo Fun tablet on my laptop with Windows Vista.

Same here. Works fine everywhere else in vista, but in photoshop cs3 it jumps around and doesn't work. It works fine in cs3 on my XP computer however.

tried with both bamboo and bamboo fun and the pen fails to respond. works fine 95% of the time but i usually have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to resume

Same here but with XP... sometimes out of nothing it stops (the rings goes off) for about a second and it stops responding also for one second.

Maybe a 5V problem from the usb? SpeedFan is telling me that my +5V goes from +4.89V to +4.95V (still it's in the 5% tolerance).

I just don't know what else to do.

What you need to do is go into cmd prompt and type this: /configtab (you need to type it correctly, sometimes you may need all caps or no caps, it depends your software). get the 7 digit code that appears next to "confm" and go to your tablet settings and enter it into the confirmation input. and you are set to go!

Animator 2 for Bamboo won't hardly let me draw. Occasionally a line will show up after trying for several minutes to get it to respond. I purchased my tablet only a month or two ago, and it works...

I had sort of the same problem, but I tried changing my settings and it worked.

I used to have my pen on the Mouse Mode, but changed it to Pen Mode and Animator 2 works fine again!

Try putting a new battery in it. Mine was having the same sort of problems, and they were pretty much entirely fixed by a new battery.

Have you tried replacing the Pen battery? Maybe it died.

Wacom tablet won't recognize pen

Hmm. I've had a similar thing happen with my tablet. Have you tried removing the tablet pen from the list of tools in tablet preferences and then adding it to the list again before checking the 'About' section of the tablet pen set-up and clicking the 'diagnose' button there in? As that worked for me when my tablet pen was not working. The pen was recognized by the tablet after that.

Mildly annoying problem with pen pressure..

your pen nib might not be working, when you bought the tablet it should have come with three replaement nibs, just pull to old one out (i use my teeth (: ) and push the new one in, it shoudl fit pretty snugly.

Grip pen not responding

You could try recalibrating the tablet.  Open the tablet control panel, then click "About." Then hold Control while clicking "Diagnose..." and on the next screen -- the Diagnostics window -- you'll see a new button labled "Recalibrate..." Clicking that might do the trick.

Good luck.

Pen died

Have a look inside the "Pen" I have found that sometimes the fine wires inside break of where they are soldered to the sensor. Also check the Contacts give 'em a good clean & re-tension them. In the ones I have seen the Sensor is just a coil of wire wound on a piece of ferrite ring. Very simple indeed.

Why does my tablet suddenly start to randomly click and drag?

Sometimes the tablet (especially ones with buttons at the top such as Cut, Copy, Paste etc) reacts to pressure and not the tablet itself. Make sure theres nothing over them, that might help.
