Question about Fuji FinePix F460 Digital Camera

Blind Stripes on pictures Fujifilm F460

Hello. I have a Fuji Finepix F460 camera and recently my pictures on my camera have looked like they are taken through blinds. When I put the pictures on my computer, they don't have lines, but are washed out and you can't really see the picture. I thought it was because my camera battery was dying, since it has problems when that happens, but I charged it and it didn't help.

Recently my fuji f 460 began prodoucing images (photos) that look like they were taken through blinds. the battery was good and fully charged. I removed the memory card to see if it was corrupted, and used the internal memory, no change. I was able to get some good shots after zooming in and out before taking a picture, but that only worked for a few. The fact that the memory card and battery are working properly, and I was able to snap a few good shots after manipulating the zoom leads me to believe there is something wrong with the lens or zoom mechanisim. If anyone has had this problem and resolved it I would be greatfull to know what you did, thanks

I also have this problem - Took it to my local repair shop and they said that it is a common fault with the light sensor - The cost to repair is nearly the same as a New camera!

Lines across your pictures could indicate that the sensor is damaged. If your camera is still under warranty get it back to Fuji asap, otherwise get it to a repair service and ask for a quote to repair. As far as i know fuji have a fixed price to repair each camera model.

SOURCE: There are lots of white

Then unfortunately this is a problem with the image sensor on the camera. It would cost more to fix than to just purchase a new one. If you do go for a new one please recycle the old one at a location that takes e-waste. Sorry for the bad news.
Take Care,

SOURCE: Lines across my photos

Nothing to do with any chips being faulty.
The clue is in the video....
The video function does not use the shutter.
The shutter has become fouled.
Unfortunately this is a major strip down to clean the shutter

SOURCE: My photos look like they have been taken through venetian blinds

I had posted a solution to "lines on photo's or over exposed photo's" on my tips page covering most digital cameras but just recently I noticed my whole page has been removed and I am waiting to hear why.

Basically, lines on photo's or over exposed pictures in daylight are due to the shutter not closing over the lens completely.

It is a mechanical fault due to dirt/ grease or moisture on the shutter leafs sticking them together.

Write error

I have a brand new fuji finepix 1000fd and was having the same problem (tried two different cards). I contacted Fuji service and they said only Sandisk and Fujifilm SD cards are guaranteed to work. I bought a Sandisk Ultra II 2 GB card ($20 at Office Depot) and after 20 pictures I haven't had an error.... yet.

Hope this helps.
